Better commentator than any of those still left working for ITV. Not sure that's an endorsement or not, but definitely an indictment into the poor state of football on ITV.

He had an interview where you can tell he is perhaps being put aside ,which seems unfair if he is fit work , of good voice and has good cognitive abilities.

Perhaps age and some other reason ,phew older men being put out to grass now . I think another middle aged ITV fella has expressed his concerns about his future.

He's been ITV's lead commentator for a few years now. Worst commentator on terrestrial TV.

When there wasn't so much football on the TV there were only a few commentators. For that reason there were hardly any bad ones.
These days, with so many matches there's a need for many more commentators (and pundits). There's plenty who aren't that good, but Clive Tyldesly was one of the better ones.

‘Orange Juice time’, ‘Rip it up and start again’.
I wonder how long he’s had that in the can waiting for the opportunity?

You think Clive Tyldesley is 'middle aged'?

                      You wish.

He is a few months off 70. He should retire!

Never liked Clive Tyldesley, he commentated as if he didn’t realise tou were seeing the same things as him, it was if he thought he was commentating on the radio - he never shut up.

I'd say most modern commentators are like that. Darren Fletcher on TNT is one of the worst for that.

Hes no Barry Davies. Very John Motson-esque style but not as quirky as Motson. His video when his contract wasnt renewed as ITVs main man a few years ago was self indulgent cringe.

Should have been put out to graze with Martin Tyler years ago.
