  • When is Bulut going to learn from our cup exploits?

In general it appears that we loosen the shackles somewhat when we play in the cup, the fringe players and kids usually give a good account of themselves and we've had some entertaining matches, even if there have been some heavy defeats.

In the league, it's so often a different story yet we still find ways to lose convincingly on a pretty regular basis.

Surely it's time for him to have a rethink?

    I thought he might.

    Bobs convinced me otherwise.

      This is the difference.

Tonight we played to our strengths even with our b-team. Bulutball is too careful, rigid and backwards facing.

Also, you can tell that bulut loves a bit of mico management - i saw him get right into Ramsey's ear in each of the championship matches so far. Nothing kills flair more than to pin down a player with a list of instructions

One thing that is true for sure is that nothing that happens in a Cup tie has been reflected in the selection that follows for the next Championship game - if a youngster plays his way into the team for Saturday on the basis of last night’s match it will represent a first under Bulut’s management of the club.

He's talking of loaning the likes of Reindorf and Ashford out.

So Meite and Kanga it is then.

Hopefully our youngsters can get us out of L1 because that's where we are heading with displays like our 1st half v Swansea.

He switched him further back on the 30-odd-minute mark at Swansea and we improved dramatically after that, that's making a tactical adjustment.

I'd want us to keep those two and Conte they all look ready.

It was a bit ambiguous after the Southampton game but today he was clear that Ashford is staying with the first team.

                      i saw it different

Nothing improved for me until the 3 musketeers came on late and we scored then proceeded to dominate the last 15 minutes. We only looked better before that because swansea foolishly tried to defend a 1-0. I wouldnt call Bulut a tactical genius for being let back into the game by a poor opposition decision

Don't think these cup games should paper over the cracks, defence wise we were all over the shop. He put 11 on the pitch and said give it a go knowing that he will revert back to the same old slow clueless football that we come to expect.

His comments about Colwill off the ball make me laugh. Sure he’s got to work on that but I find it hard to believe he’d make us concede more goals, we concede for fun as it is!

Amazing how a cautious manager (even his supporters would agree with this!) has the worst defensive record in a long, long time

It’s the double standards that really annoy me.

He’s in the media picking out things these youngsters need to improve on for him to take them seriously.

Yet the senior players, who are guilty of much more serious failings, are automatically selected week after week.

I didn't say he was a tactical genius, when he was talking to Rambo, he wasn't micro-managing him he was making a tactical change as at that time Swansea were in total control and we were chasing shadows.
