Re: Roko Simic Signs
well the general impression being sent out to the world is , you want to keep them out. Thank feck he wasn't sent to Rwanda FC.Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostIt was mentioned in the other thread that there may be a work permit element. No idea how that works these days, but maybe there’s something in that.

you can be sure of one thing, every time he scores for Kortrijk there will be posts on here asking why he isn't playing for us.Originally posted by TheBirchgrovePub View PostOne of the strangest bits of business the club has ever done. In need of a striker to get us off the bottom of the table and we’ve spent 2mil on someone that may be joining to spearhead our League 1 campaign
The next Etien Velikonja.

Re: Roko Simic Signs
If there's not a hard financial or work permit requirement here, bizarre doesn't even begin to describe it. Even at a young age (too young for Bulut), if he's not a better option than the likes of Etete and Reindorf to be in and around the first team squad then he's not worth 2 million quid is he.

I was just thinking I wonder what the odds would be on him never making an appearance for us.Originally posted by Rjk View Postyou can be sure of one thing, every time he scores for Kortrijk there will be posts on here asking why he isn't playing for us.

I'm wondering what the chances are of the club realising their "game changer" transfer hasn't materialised and keeping this guy and giving him a chance now.Originally posted by TheBirchgrovePub View PostI was just thinking I wonder what the odds would be on him never making an appearance for us.

The last “game changer” was Siopis so their use of that term can be taken with a pinch of salt :hehe:Originally posted by Eddie Johnson View PostI'm wondering what the chances are of the club realising their "game changer" transfer hasn't materialised and keeping this guy and giving him a chance now.
This is absolutely bizarre. He’s scored goals in the Champions League, in the top divisions of Austria and Switzerland and we farm him out to Belgium? I’d be quite excited about this signing but it makes no sense

Velikonja was my exact thoughts. The need is now, not next season when it could be too late.Originally posted by Rjk View Postyou can be sure of one thing, every time he scores for Kortrijk there will be posts on here asking why he isn't playing for us.

Re: Roko Simic Signs
If the speculation is true and he is going out on loan because “he is one for the future”, your league 1 comment is, worryingly, a scenario that could happen.Originally posted by TheBirchgrovePub View PostOne of the strangest bits of business the club has ever done. It begs the question, why has this £2million signing been sanctioned? Given that Vincent Tan, for years after the event, used Cornelius as a rod to beat Malky Mckay… reasoning that we needed a striker “now” not the “future”.
Obviously there is plenty of time for us to avoid relegation (yet again) but given that we have injuries, a few of the new signings “are not match fit”, and at this moment we don’t know how our other striker is going to fair, all this contributes to us still not having a clue how the team is going to be set up this season.
If we are still in the same boat after the next 10 games, then I am going to get worried that every point will become so vital, that the entertainment value will be even worse than last season.

Re: Roko Simic Signs
May be it has something to do with FFP? We have a large squad and spent a quite a bit of money. This may have taken us over the FFP limit but by loaning him out until January we balance the books. The club could have calculated it was worth doing that rather than losing out on signing him.Originally posted by Pedro de la Rosa View PostThe last “game changer” was Siopis so their use of that term can be taken with a pinch of salt :hehe:

Still a bit bizare but if this was the only way to complete the signing then I sort of see why it has been done

How would loaning him help though? We pay the fees the same if he is here or on loan.Originally posted by NinianKnight View PostMay be it has something to do with FFP?
