I'm surprised Purse didn't get the caretaker job given he's actually managed some sort of team. Maybe they're concerned about the last time we promoted an U21 coach.

Edit: I would suggest Markus Stamm of Dynamo Dresden for next manager but that's just me trying to score hipster points.

I think we'll go for Steven Naismith of Hearts. He seems a shoe in for Tan & Co.

Hearts have sacked head coach Steven Naismith following a run of eight successive defeats, with CEO Andrew McKinlay saying there was "little evidence of any potential upturn in fortunes".

Assistants Gordon Forrest and Frankie McAvoy have also been dismissed, with Hearts B team head coach Liam Fox appointed interim manager.

Former Scotland forward Naismith, 38, first took charge in April 2023, initially on a caretaker basis, and steered the Edinburgh club to third in the Scottish Premiership last season.

Hearts are currently bottom of the league, with just one point from their opening six outings.

They were knocked out of the League Cup by Championship side Falkirk and dropped into the Conference League after losing both legs of their Europa League play-off against Viktoria Plzen.

In August, Naismith and his backroom team agreed new contracts running to 2026.

Offer it to Giggs. Hopefully he’ll accept in order to get back into football and try and rebuild his reputation. He got Wales defending very well. Then build from there. Rambo to help him.

I agree, he wasn’t exactly hounded out, other than by Internet /social media fans as he pointed out.

He’ll no doubt get a job elsewhere, probably back in Turkey. To be fair he never stood a chance under the regime, let’s see who is daft enough to think they can buck the trend and bring some success.

Social media was almost overwhelmingly supportive until the last week or so, to the point where anyone questioning him was shouted down

Turnbull needs to have a good long look at his own contribution since coming to the club (in other words precisely nothing) before making snide posts on social media.

In fairness, Turnbull has been given a grand total of 12 minutes on the pitch so far this season. Therefore, it’s hardly surprising he’s glad Bulut has been sent packing.
