He's clearly a good enough player to feature in a championship side

Wether or not we paid too much for him is old cabbage

I am sure if he gets enough game time he will have a role here

I still think getting rid of wintle was a mistake

Turnbull would have to show some pace. Something be hasn't shown so far and Celtic fans said he was too slow.

          Ralls?

I’m a huge Ralls fan but I don’t think he plays every game.

You cannot play Robertson, Turnbull and Colwill in midfield. We would get overrun.

To be fair I haven’t seen enough of turnball to know what he can actually do. Riza has improved others in two games, or his team selection has, so maybe he can get more out of him.

He's lightweight and slow. That's a given. He might be a good footballer but at the moment, he's Colwill's reserve and I don't think he can play anywhere else

                  Re: Alex Robertson

If Ralls isn't fit then with Colwill and Robertson filling 2 places then it's a choice between Siopis and Rino. Not ideal. Siopis immediately came on and passed a simple ball to a Bristol City player. To his credit he then did what he does well and put in a great tackle and won it back.

I dont think Rino let us down when he came on v Millwall or v Bristol City but I think he's a lower end Championship player at best.

Unless we go in the Transfer Market in January I think id recall King/Wintle.

I wouldn't want Turnbull as part of a 3 with Colwill and Robertson and I'm not convinced he's good enough anyway.

Exactly how I see it, he is the back up number 10
and we would need to play another player exactly like Robertson behind him, as Turnbull is too slow

Two players with energy and pace doing his work and he might look okay.

I just don’t see how he fits into this team

We have however bigger problems to sort out first
If Robinson is the number 9 who’s his back up?

Why do most of our wingers look so slow?

With so much time out I guess it’s inevitable that ElGhazi would take longer to get back to March fitness, I still think there is a quality footballer there if he can rediscover his form

Willock I’m not sure about, I expected more from him, and ODowda just looks out of sorts

Whoever comes in to take charge of this lot has a big task in getting some of these underperforming players back to some sort of form

Whether it’s confidence or whatever it’s a tough job ahead and for that reason alone I think we need an experienced no nonsense manager who will raise the bar

I agree with this, Robertson and Ralls as the default, with Ralls looking ok as he's only asked to battle away and keep it simple when on the ball. If Ralls isn't fit or needs a rest then one of the other two come in.

I think Ralls, Wintle etc will all look fine alongside Robertson. It is when we play these type of players together that it just exposes their limitations to a massive extent.

Also agree about Turnbull, he should only come on in an advanced position where he doesn't have to be defensively astute as he's too slow and nowhere near good enough. He has a good strike on him I'd be interested to see him in the Colwill position when he needs a break. Especially if we have someone behind him who can get him the ball.

As for Siopis, he was awful when he came on for 10 minutes the other day, I'd be happy to not see him play again as I don't think he can be trusted at this level, he runs around like a 10 year old, has a poor touch and at this level teams just pop it around someone like that. Would rather see Rino and Eli King over him, hopefully we can get rid of him in January though I think his contract is up at the end of the season anyway.

Ralls has been a major part of our midfield problems for years. An honest, hard working player but totally pedestrian

I think the midfield problem is not having players with flair around players like ralls ...who does the dog work

                          Rather than ralls

                          Every team needs battlers

If Siopis was a Welsh International and not a Greek one, people would love him. It's just groupthink to constantly obsess about him on here. Can't believe anyone's seriously thinking of Wintle coming back.

People do love him ... or at least they did until this season. He had a good two months at the start of last season and has been awful since.

Wintle signed a new three year deal in the summer, there is every chance he will be back at the end of the season.

Arguing about the respective merits/failings of Siopis and Wintle is the adage of two bald men fighting over a comb. Let's be fair, neither are good enough.
