  • The 5 teams below us

Pompey plymouth milwall coventry and qpr.

Weve beaten 3 of them in our last 3 home games.

I know milwall are playing plymouth tomorrow so at least 1 if not both will overtake us but i have to say while coventry should be fine id be disappointed if we finished below any of the other 4 from what i have seen so far.

    Thoughts?

I think we should be looking ever upwards now and leave the relegation scrap to others.

If we play anywhere near the level of the last two games we should be comfortably safe. If you’d told me this three weeks ago I’d have laughed my head off

Indeed 4 games ago some people on here were saying we would get the record low points total!

The next couple of games are far tougher though so wouldnt be a huge shock to lose the next 3.

3 excellent wins in style but they have been poor teams we have beaten at home.

I suppose im just saying i think people were being overly negative a couple of games ago and some may be over positive now?

Plus when riza is confirmed as permanent there will inevitably a downturn!

You seriously think this team could go down?

Ask that question in a few weeks.

I think this would be really disappointing on the back of the last few performances. We are flying going forward at the moment and feel like we will score in all 3 games, it’d be disappointing to lose all 3. Norwich and Luton not doing much this season but Saturday will be tough and I’d expect us to get beat there but 7+ points should be the aim in the 4 games before the break imo

I don't need to. The only way this team is going down is if that clown manager comes back.

I think apart from a few obvious sides there is very very little between most sides in the championship. 4 games ago most city fans would said relegation was a possibility wouldnt they?

Things can change very quickly in the championship. Birmingham went down with the magical 50 points season. Its very very tight. Oxford are 10th and we could leapfrog them with 1 win now. Or we could be back bottom on saturday. Thats the reality of the championship. One game could determine if you end the day 10th or 24th its so tight.

Last season rotherham werent competitive so was just those 2 other relegation spots to compete for. This season im not sure if any of the teams will be as poor as rotherham were?

We arent unique but i dont think there are many teams in the league who dont have to worry about relegation. Such is the championship that includes teams who could go up in the play offs as not many teams who couldnt do that either!!

What riza has done is get us in that mix and we arent cast adrift.

However imagine if we did lose the next 3? Imagine the panic that will return then. Imagine if we win the next 3! Imagine how carried away everyone will be. Its why its such a fun league to be in.

4 games ago we had bullet in charge. If he was still in charge we'd probably go down.

Yeh, promotion, Premiership, who wants that? It's just losing most games and getting relegated.
Let's just get to the playoffs and lose.

Yet, for the past four seasons we’ve struggled to beat teams like that at home, we’ve struggled to beat anyone at home. Playing at home never counted as the advantage it should be for us and, before Plymouth, you could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times we actually attacked teams from the start at Cardiff City Stadium since fixtures resumed after Covid.

Portsmouth, Plymouth and Millwall were all dreadful.

There are much bigger tests ahead which is why we should try to retain some perspective after these last two excellent wins.
