Re: The 5 teams below us

Unless he's already said elsewhere, Im waiting for North Cardiff Blue to claim our recent turnaround is nothing to do with the change in manager, but completely down to us having much easier fixtures.

They’ll be tougher tests for sure, however we have shown that this squad can actually play attacking attractive football, they can battle for possession and work hard for each other.

There seems to be a strong bond between the players, which has helped to create a buzz in the stands

The shackles have come off and this team can attack and give us an entertaining performance

There are definitely weaknesses , especially up top of Robinson is injured etc, but there are far more positives. We also have a bit of momentum, which in turn builds confidence

Away to WBA on Saturday would have been a banker for a home win under Buluts turgid anti football, now we can go there feeling confident of putting in a decent account of ourselves, a point on Saturday would be a good result imho.

Just coming back to the team, I might be totally wrong, but I still think we will have one hell of a player in El Ghazi when he gets to full match fitness

Tanner has been superb and I hope he knuckles down and keeps progressing

Robertson continues to impress with every performance

Colwill, we’re lucky to have him, although some clown 🤡 of a coach was more concerned about his ability to defend, moron

A couple of additions in January and we will comfortably be in the top half of the league.

The big question is whether we stick or twist with Riza, and it’s going to be a big call

Is that even a debate about riza now? I had forgotten we were technically looking for a manager! Its his surely just a formality now?

          Although factually correct?

Wed have got zero points under bulut in the last 3 home games but his 6 games were harder on paper than rizas 5? Surely a quick glance at the table would make that very obvious?

I think it’s his to lose, they’ll probably give him until the next international break to see what happens?

I was against giving him the opportunity, as my view is that it’s just to big a gamble putting a rookie coach in charge
It’s the easiest and cheapest option, and we’ve seen where that takes us with Morison and Hudson etc
The next four games are going to be tougher and if the performances are anything like we’ve seen from the previous four games, Riza would have earned the opportunity to take the role.

Maybe this time the club has struck lucky and found a diamond?

I hope they have as we’ve been woeful short on decent managers/coaches over the last 14 seasons

No I definitely wouldn't say that, he lost the plot and the dressing room, what I said during that post was that fixtures can affect confidence and seasons, a good or bad start can hang around for a while and confidence can take you higher or lower than your true level.

Something to think about, what if the fixtures were in reverse and after a reasonable pre-season we won the first two comfortably?

We will never know and things are working out quite well, I am glad he has gone the football is so much more enjoyable and we have a decent squad and some great young players hitting top form and a few more waiting for their chance.

As soon as a caretaker is appointed, everyone relaxes and results fall, keep looking and let's see how he gets on against on in the next four games against better teams.

Re: The 5 teams below us

I’d be in favour of giving Riza the job until the end of the season. I think we’ve got enough quality in our starting 11 to comfortably avoid any relegation battle, but not enough to get promoted. In the meantime if a better manager becomes available, it would be cheap enough to pay up Riza for the remainder of his short contract. We will be more appealing to some managers after the last few performances, I can imagine they weren’t too keen given our position and performances at the moment Bulut was sacked.

The fixtures are the complete opposite, it would have been interesting if fixtures came out in reverse, but probably it's a good thing they didn't.

The next four will be interesting, but we are full of confidence, with virtually no new injuries, players coming back, creating chances, scoring goals, and keeping clean sheets, no team will want to play us at the moment.

There is some truth in this.

Whereas I wouldn’t usually advocate stretching the hiring process out (remember when Spurs sacked Poch and appointed Mourinho the NEXT DAY?!), it has gone on for so long now, that we may as well do as you suggest!

I think West Brom will fancy beating us. They're at home, we're still down the bottom. Their fans will expect a comfortable win. However, I have a feeling we could get a result there.

Maybe Tan has got fed up of paying managers off that he'll keep Riza going as temporary manager as long as he can!

Me too, they have Blackburn tonight, a day less to recover and we are full of confidence, but they are a very good team. I'm looking forward to it' let's go straight at them, catch them cold, and try and score first again.
