Interesting response because it seems overwhelmingly A) but do you think CCMB would be more negative and toxic after a season of A or B?

My thoughts too. If the OP had stated that we'd reach the playoffs without saying we'd lose then that might add a different slant on matters. However, the heartbreak of losing in the playoffs is not worth enduring dour football for.

(A) we carry on playing this attacking football in every game, no matter the opposition, and win some games but lose others 4-3 - ultimately finishing bottom half but clear of relegation

(B) we become an efficient but dour side, grinding out 1-0s and finish 6th but lose in the playoff semis

I think that's a false choice set. We are/were clearly unable the grind out any kind of result. Clearly, the only way is buccaneering footy.

I don't hanker for the Premier league .I just want to not be a joke anymore, mid table playing the football I've been seeing last couple of games is fine by me.
