He’s not an outstanding Championship standard player, but, for me, he is Championship standard and as such I feel we could and should have played more for us last season. He wouldn’t have made the midfield more technical or creative, but he’s better at getting around the pitch than the likes of Ralls, Wintle, Siopis and Colwill - we had a lack of stamina and mobility in the middle of the park last year and having Rinomhota in the team would have improved us in those departments.

I’d bring Ng back for Wednesday because he’s back in form, but I’d have had no problem with keeping him in the team a month ago when Ng was struggling.
Great to have choice , players coming in that arent just there to make the numbers up . Kanga and Miete may not quite live up to that statement.

Agreed. I was expecting the worst when I saw that Ng was suspended, but Rino did a great job.
Also a big shout for Turnbull, who had an excellent game. He get's a lot of stick, but he's getting there. Him and Robertson are a really good pairing.

I can definitely see why Siopis splits opinion.

Example: There was a moment on Saturday where a Norwich player was breaking out on a counter, and he overran the ball. Siopis came across and absolutely launched himself into the tackle and put it out for a throw, when he could have just put his body between the man and the ball and played a simple pass back to the centre half.

The City commentators were going wild for it but I just thought it was showy and a pointless waste of possession.

In general, he over-commits, he gets bounced all over the place, he's easy to pickpocket, and, while he undoubtedly gets around the field, he doesn't do it quickly enough to be a disruptor. And that's without mentioning his lack of ability on the ball. When we had him and Wintle in midfield last year, it's a wonder we ever crossed the halfway line.

As Hartley says, he could get away with most of those things in a slower league, but I think he looks massively exposed in the Championship.

funny how different people view the same match.
For sure Rinhomota deserves a lot of credit for stepping in to an unfamiliar position, after being out in the cold for so long and being fully committed to it.
I didn't think he was one of our better players though on the day. A couple of misplaced passes from him almost put us in danger and I thought we looked vulnerable down his side for a lot of the game - yes we got away with it, but at times there were a few hairy moments there.
He also didn't offer much going forward, especially when you compare to his counterpart on the left side of defence.
When Daland came on he seemed a lot more solid defensively - especially under a high ball.

I don't think many Norwich fans would have gone away from the game thinking he was one of our better players, and I'll feel a lot more comfortable with Ng back in the RB spot.

By no means terrible, but probably a 6/10 at most for me.

I think it’s where I was worried about the RB position when I saw the line up. And early on he was right on Sainz making a few challenges, forcing him to drift inside. I’ve give him more credit as I feared the worst.

It makes you realise the work that Robertson does to accommodate both Colwill and Turnbull.

Rinomhoto guarded his side of the park excellently , was involved in late blocks , assisted up front when we were pushing on with some bright moves.
It was only one game but I would let him have another shot at it next game , he earned it.
Great performance for someone playing out of position.
I should add Odowda was excellent on the other side , he plays much better from the back.
Like a new signing, and can cover a lot of positions from the bench, this squad is shaping up nicely.

                  Its all about opinions .
Generally Rinomhoto has had a fairly scathing press on here , I was concerned when I saw him at RB but he quickly caught my eye pushing Sainz away from goal and eventually clearing .
Sainz actually moved away from him. Whether that was forced or planned , who knows.
I did feel he was left a little high and dry when Norwich came down his wing .He had the player on the outside to cover and someone coming inside that he was also calling for assistance to cover , probably Siopsis job who likes to stay a little more central .
I don't tend to notice the opposition much myself unless they do something exceptional , good footballers don't always do the exceptional.

Robertson actually got the whole front line moving , a lack lustre press became a potent press. Very impressive

We definitely need cover in midfield

Siopis , ralls can fill in of course but a playmaker is vital if we are going to be on the front foot
