I was a fan of Jones, but I can't think of many former managers who have gone onto be successful director of football (I'm probably forgetting someone obvious).
And I'm not sure he'd necessarily be a great fit for the role.

Of course there are many diffrerent examples of DoF that work in slightly different ways, but in general I think the main advantage is to put certain functions like recruitment, youth delelopment, develpoment of a "football philosophy" etc slightly removed from the manager. For good reason as managers are often fairly short term positions, and you don't want to completely chop and change direction every 12 months.

Playing style wise I'd be very happy with the Jones brand of football - Id argue that what Riza is trying to do is probably not too dissimilar.

I'd say in general Jones' recruitment was skewed to slightly older players, and with a focus on paying higher wages and lower transfer fees - and concentrating the funds on a good first XI with the rest of the squad a significant drop in quality.
I'm not sure that's the way we should be going now.

That not a bot account is a good wind up to be fair. Hilarious to watch people falling for it.

Latest one is "may be big news coming soon, not confirmed yet though, lots of plates spinning, can't confirm if to do with on field or off the field but hopefully won't have to wait too long before it's confirmed."

And it sends people into overdrive trying to figure out what it is. :hehe: basically anything that either does or doesn't happen will prove them right and pull people further in.
