Clearly an inappropriate time to speculate. There are occasions when politicians need to offer nothing more than condolences and to fight to find the answers (although I would note that people get angry with "thoughts and prayers after school shootings..).

He seriously needs to work on his statesmanship qualities as they are almost nonexistent.
School shootings are an endemic problem in America that no other country suffers from to the same extent. It still hasn’t been solved after decades of incidents and hundreds of people being killed. There were 39 school shootings in 2024 alone. Thoughts and prayers sound hollow and fake when nothing else is being offered and you’re hearing it for the 20th time in a year.

This incident sounds like it purely comes down to human error, a 1 in a million freak accident by the helicopter pilot. They were told of an incoming plane by ATC and unfortunately he mistakenly identified the wrong aircraft. All you can offer in a situation like that is “thoughts and prayers”.

It was without doubt one of the most horrendous public speeches I have ever heard. I was gobsmacked where he went after the initial condolences. He should have stopped right there rather than making it all about him. What a despicable human he is

Then you understand why some people don’t accept “thoughts and prayers” as being a satisfactory outcome to school shootings?

I wouldn't call what he said, Speculation. He really is an A grade ****. The people that work in ATC Washington could easily become targets of hate and violence because of what that horrible twat has said. He cares about nobody apart from himself.

Despicable that he can already draw a conclusion as to its cause when neither the black boxes, or all of the bodies have been recovered.
What a tool the man is.

Do you think he will apologise to the air controllers if he is found to be wrong?

No chance because he'll blame the diversity targets in the military instead.

Well, it is. It's not his newspaper articles that get him support, it's his oratory.

No, not really. It's a pretty accurate statement.

Anyway, I can already tell this thread isn't about the air crash at all!

Yup, and it was Trump that made it that way.
