He looked very quick and capable when we rallied against a very good Southampton side in the cup.

When he was brought on recently in a league game he looked like a rabbit in the headlights , he was far from ready

As I said Jim, due to our awful start, we were ready to cling to any hope. That game against Southampton gave that glimmer of hope and Reindorf was the main protagonist. If he hadn’t have been tried, whether ready or not, and the Kanga striker situation had continued, as it did to a certain extent, we’d have had a right to be a bit pissed off. Reindorf didn’t solve the problem but it had to be attempted.

Was he a better option than Kanga? yes, but only marginally, and that's not a criticism of Reindoff, he just wasn't ready for it, no shame in that, and by the looks of things, after his brief appearances for the club, they came to the conclusion that he wasn't ready yet, that's why he's at Bristol Rovers. My point i that some fans go way over the top about young players, i find it a bit cringe, and i'd rather talk young players down a bit. Ashford has hit a bit of a wall, tiredness, never being in this situation before, coming down off his relative success over the past few months. It happens, and we've seen it happen before. Players coming through need time and patience to develop and mature.
        A better option than Kanga?
The friggin corner flag moved quicker and it had a hamstring injury

We were desperate for any alternative to Kanga and it was worth a shot
As it stands it looks like he’s not ready for a struggling Rovers side, but such was the desperation situation then, that he was being championed as an alternative option because at least he looked like he was interested in playing for us rather than moving slower than a statue
