Re: Ryan Wintle
You don't remember the time when he took a corner and it went straight to the feet of the first defender - then moments later, he took a freekick that hit the wall?Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View Post'Forgotten man' Ryan Wintle is very easy to forget. He must be the most nondescript player in the club's recent history. Not the worst by any means, but a footballer who never stands out.
Remember that time he....? Nope, nothing springs to mind.
When the crowd showed their displeasure, Wintle turned to them, and in a somewhat patronising way, gestured for them to calm down..
My only memory of Wintle.

Re: Ryan Wintle
If he "usually puts in a 6.5/10 performance" for us, he'd still be a regular at the City and not someone who can't get into Millwall's matchday squad.Originally posted by Stanmore Bluebird View PostAt least Wintle has a good engine and is very rarely injured - not a sick note as so many of our so called “stars” are. He is a workmanlike player in my opinion and usually puts in a 6.5/10 performance.

he did score a last minute penalty to win a gameOriginally posted by The Lone Gunman View Post'Forgotten man' Ryan Wintle is very easy to forget. He must be the most nondescript player in the club's recent history. Not the worst by any means, but a footballer who never stands out.

Re: Ryan Wintle
I was looking at Wintle's record and was surprised to find he'd scored four Championship goals for City. Two of those came at home - a 98th minute penalty against Sheffield Wednesday and a 95th minute effort against Ipswich.Originally posted by Rock_Flock_of_Five View PostMy only memory of Wintle.
So, during the last three seasons, one of which he's spent on loan at Millwall, Wintle has scored four Championship goals for City, while Rubin Colwill has netted just two. Strange but true.

Re: Ryan Wintle
Remember when he was on loan at Blackpool, getting rave reviews as a playmaker, people on here screaming for him to come back, just what we need etc. I think it was based on two posts on a Blackpool forum.Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostI was looking at Wintle's record and was surprised to find he'd scored four Championship goals for City. Re: Ryan Wintle
To be fair it was based on him operating the Waltzer at the Pleasure Beach……no such amusements in Bermondsey.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostRemember when he was on loan at Blackpool, getting rave reviews as a playmaker, people on here screaming for him to come back, just what we need etc. I think it was based on two posts on a Blackpool forum.

Re: Ryan Wintle
It's easy to say that in hindsight. Other than Ralls, our midfield options at that time were Leandro Bacuna, Marlon Pack, Will Vaulks, and Sam Bowen.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostRemember when he was on loan at Blackpool, getting rave reviews as a playmaker, people on here screaming for him to come back, just what we need etc. I think it was based on two posts on a Blackpool forum.
While we were getting spanked every week, we had a guy nobody had yet seen play getting rave reviews at a direct rival - of course people wanted him back.
I don't rate him myself (I think after watching the above mentioned players every week, anyone with the ability not to hoof it first time into the stands would have initially stood out). He'd probably do a decent job in League 1 though, and I think that's where his next move will be (whether it's with us or someone else).
