    Re: A relegation is announced.

Does it really matter? We will be playing League one football next season. Say the club had used the 'R' word then I am sure they would have been branded as being negative.

Personally, I am looking forward to next season. We have a chance to reset and get rid of the expensive failures like Ramsey and El Ghazi.

Hopefully, players like Ashford, Robertson, Tanner and the 2 Colwill's will step up and flourish. If would like to keep players like Salech and O'Dowda but hopefully most of the hopeless journey men will go

It might be the club is worried to document it as a relegation as Vincent was confused and was excitedly thinking we would be able to put one over Nantes on the pitch.

No anger, no remorse, no apology, no tears, nothing.

The lack of resposnsibility only highlights how out of touch the club is with it's fans.

The good work done by the foundation, the programme creators, the womens team, the academy, the ticket office all gets overlooked and diluted because no one is owning the elephant in the room.

Football is massive at the moment and is getting bigger and Tan has allowed our potential to be pissed against the wall.

What a waste of an opportunity.
Borleys tweets yesterday were quite revealing weren't they? He was very active on there about the women's team and fan engagement awards etc...... but not a word on the men's team. Zilch.

        We can only guess why.

In a way it's a shame we got relegated in the last home game. Had there been another home game left proper protests and showing of displeasure could have been conveyed.

But now the hierarchy have a summer getting off lightly

Do you really think there are City fans who would feel the club using the word “relegation” was negative? None of the ones I know would. Maybe it’s a generational thing and younger fans feel that way, but I watched the That Cardiff City fan podcast and, although I was surprised by how cut up he was, he had no problems whatsoever using the word relegation.

It'd odd as chat GBT could do them a simple statement apologising and determined to put things right, stick together etc..... would take 30 secs to ask and publish. But they couldn't even be bothered to do that.

In fact here's one I have done for them which took less than 30 seconds

Statement from the Board of Cardiff City Football Club

To all of our loyal supporters,

We write to you today with heavy hearts, acknowledging the disappointment and frustration felt by everyone associated with Cardiff City Football Club following our relegation from the Championship. This season has not unfolded as we had hoped, and we fully understand the pain and disillusionment that this outcome has caused.

We want to take this moment to sincerely apologize to all of our fans. You have stood by us through thick and thin, and your unwavering support has always been the lifeblood of this club. We deeply regret that we could not deliver the results and performances that you deserve and expect.

However, while this is undoubtedly a setback, it is also the beginning of a new chapter. We are committed to rebuilding and revitalizing the club, both on and off the pitch. The journey ahead will not be easy, but we are resolute in our belief that Cardiff City has the potential to return stronger, more determined, and with renewed ambition.

Our focus now is to plan for the future, bringing in the right personnel, fostering youth development, and ensuring that we build a squad capable of challenging at the top levels again. We will work tirelessly to make sure that this season’s disappointment becomes the foundation of future success.

We ask for your continued patience, understanding, and, most importantly, your support. Together, we will rise from this setback and return to where we belong.

Thank you for your loyalty. We are Cardiff City, and we will come back stronger.

                  With sincere regards,
The Board of Cardiff City Football Club

Sorry to be a pedant but no, we can't avoid relegation now, but aren't actually 'relegated' until the end of the season, we're still in the Championship next week when we play Norwich.

                      Re: A relegation is announced.

yeah this doesn't really bother me at all.
each to their own, and not trying to diminish anyone's legitimate feelings on it.

but to me I don't need to read an announcement to know we're going to be relegated.
I don't see any benefit in the club showing some kind of contrition or self flagellation, and I certainly don't feel like they should be apologising to me.

it's a relegation - not what we wanted but it happens. I have little doubt that the players at least are more upset by what's happened than I am. where we go from here is the important thing

I have little doubt that a good portion of this group of players are a lot less upset by what’s happened than you are.

On the other hand, ChatTBG states: "We have been p*ss poor for a few seasons and the inevitable has now happened. Vincent Tan, the owner and who hasn't been seen at a game for almost two and a half years, is to due diligence and football knowledge what Trump is to empathy and international relations".

Seems standard practice. If we're losing 5-0 at half-time, they'll post "City with it all to do in the second half", or "U21s behind at the break". Those in football will often call a spade the most exciting utensil in the shed. I agree it's daft but can't upset the players, err, I mean our gallant heroes who just fell short.

Still no acknowledgment about our relegation on the club website, just the “will be competing in League one” drivel.

I asked the question as to whether the Trust could have delayed sending their critical message out on Sunday for a day or two to give the club a chance to respond to our relegation. Turns out it would have made no difference at all as the club policy appears to close your eyes, put your hands over your eyes and shout la, la, la loudly in the hope that our relegation will somehow go away.
