so what price does anything think it would take to part company ? 3 million ?
Someone who struggled to get into a bottom of the table team? You’d think they wouldn’t have to pay more than a million for him, but it’s a strange one because teams will look at his performance at Villa and in three or four other games and think there’s a potential bargain to be had even if they and up paying a lot more than a million. If there genuinely is a bidding war for him, then I think City could ask for something like £7 million.

I hope he stays. The post above sort of poses the question: he has had some really good performances in only a handful of games; is this Rubin's fault or is the club and the environment to blame?

A decent manager/coach will see potential and trust himself to help Colwill fulfill it. As it’s been mentioned in games against better sides he has shone. And anyway it’s not as though any manager of a buying club is using his own money. For some clubs it wouldn’t be a tremendous amount and the coach can use the ‘he’s a long term project’ argument.

              His stats make poor reading.

Mozzer, you're off your head thinking a lot of clubs will be asking about Lawlor. The average City fan wouldn't even know who he is.

Really? In which games in particular has he shone? I can’t recall any other than the home games against Plymouth and Portsmouth.

Bear in mind, we have Joel too. Taking both Rubin's youth and his poor performance this season into account, I'd say 4/5 million is probably going to eb the price range. He's a difficult player to value, but it's clear his season has been poor. So I don't really know, there are definitely players I would keep above Rubin.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that, I think he’s been called up to the Wales training squad, he’s a young lad with a lot of potential

He likes to play out and is comfortable with the ball at his feet

Is he the finished article, far from it, but he’s brave and clearly knows how to play and make use of skill set

What he needs is coaches who are capable of making him into a first team player and a run in the first team, out of all the youngsters I’d think he has the potential to become a good player

but the crux of the situation is who the manger or management team will be . In terms of time frame lets hope we have a new management structure in place by June the 1;st at the very latest

Depending on the type of football we play next year will determind what future lies ahead for our current younger players . My fear is we get a Warnock type manager in and will go with the older more experienced players to try to get us out of the league .

If we go down that route doubt we will see too many younger players feature next season anyway

The way our board has been run the last 5 years god knows what they will do !

He did well at Villa, they’re a better side. Sheff Utd in the Cup, Stoke in the Cup. Ok the last 2 were ‘cup XIs’ but they’re still better sides than us. You mentioned Plymouth & Portsmouth, yep, on League positions, they’re better sides than us as well.

Based on stats Rubin Colwill made the most appearances of any Cardiff player this season , he was 3rd top goal scorer and top for assists

Potential, undoubtedly. But he's still relatively unknown, with just 70 minutes league experience.

Based on that logic, Colwill was also anonymous / mediocre / poor / pitiful (delete as applicable, and don't forget superb) in games against better sides than us.

This is how daft the Colwill discussion has become.
