Grant Hanley mentioned as a target for us on the Cardiff City World podcast last night. My first thiought on hearing that was oh no, but after thinking about it for a couple more minutes, I began to think it made some sense.

He's certainly the kind of leader we've been missing on the pitch; however, he's been plagued by injuries and has only played 26 league games in the last three seasons. 33 years old and not much pace. It's a "NO' from me.

Why would we sign an injury prone thirty-something, unless it's to keep the physios employed? It's a BIG NO from me.

To comply with league 1 rules the max number of senior players to register before the season starts is 22 . This is down from 25 players in the championship

Think we have 22 senior players on our books right now . under 21's are exempt

If my calculations are right we will need lose 2 players to get 2 in

How this has got to 19 pages is impressive, we have done a great job to somehow keep this thread going.

Not long until we can forget about it, no longer seeing it update and believing something may be happening.

Is there any more information about Tsunoda and Willock? other than some Japanese football ITK guy on twitter and the fact that Willock played with the U21s against Yeovil?

Can't find anything about this season, but I found this about last season.

The definition of u21 then was "any player born on or after January 1 2004", so presumably that's Jan 1 2005 now. That would mean neither of them can be counted as u21.

I'm not advocating that we sign Hanley, but we definitely need someone in that Morrison/Flint-type mould in this league.

There'll be games (at home) where we have a lot of the ball and teams sit deep, and that's fine. But there'll be games (likely away) where teams will have a big ****er up top and they'll just pummel crosses and long balls into them for 90 mins. Unless Daland sorts himself out, we haven't currently got any centre backs that can handle that type of physicality.
