  • If it is Brian Barry-Murphy?

What are you negatives and positives regarding him has the manager of our club?
I must admit I know little about his career but I have read he was praised for Rochdale's style of play and work with homegrown talent and had a very small budget to work with..

He seems to have done pretty well with Manchester City academy to.
But will he have what it takes to get us promoted 🤔.

I know very little about him.

I would have thought he must be well thought of if hes worked with Man City and he was called upon to help Leicester.

It's a huge gamble but so would anyone.

Id rather him than Des Buckingham by a distance.

If it is him I hope decent backroom staff come in.

I think we all must accept that we are in the dark about BBM. If he gets the gig then good luck to him.

          It's an encouraging article.

Had some difficult times at Rochdale which as a young manager shouldn't just be looked at as failure and he must be rubbish.

Clearly has something for man city to trust him with their super elite development squad.

Could be great, could be hung out to dry.

I don’t mind him or Ramsey but we need a DoF with either.

My favourite would be Steve cooper. Is he still without a club. I think he would make a great DoF too

What's the big deal on this board about a director of football?

Without one, any manager would be reporting directly to Dalman and Choo, who in turn report to Tan. 3 people who know f all in running a successful football club.

Yeah, I don't think Rochdale should be held against him. The club was in such a bad state, I remember when the by-election was going on, people were actually running on "We will save Rochdale football club from extinction." A Sheffield politician also spoke out about what was going on at Wednesday right now.

We're not in that position, not yet at least.

My main fear with Barry-Murphy is that he’ll struggle to cope with the challenge of working for an eccentric owner at a club which, we’re constantly told, is under much more of a media spotlight than is the norm. Like it would have been with Aaron Ramsey, I reckon Brian Barry-Murphy, if appointed, would need someone experienced to act as a buffer between him and the Board - as has been suggested elsewhere on here, that could well be Gavin Chesterfield.

Get away from the crap that goes with the Cardiff job though and I think Barry-Murphy could be a good appointment as far as the football goes.

For me, a completely unnecessary gamble when a steady hand would’ve done.

Trying to hit a home run when a single would’ve won the match.

I would’ve gone for Evatt personally

Evatt was presumably the experienced L1 manager type who would have kept the Trust happy.

Would probably have kept us comfortably in L1.

The list of manager options that we appeared to be looking at was really uninspiring.

With Ramsey ruled out Id prefer the gamble on Barry-Murphy and hopefully we can start building a side to get back up in the next few seasons.

With limited experience, two relegations (Leicester and Rochdale), and some coaching kids, what a disaster. There were so many Managers available last season, and we stuck with Riza, and it looks like we're making the same old mistake again.

I dont know anything about the Rochdale relegation but L1 is probably a level too high for them.

Leicester were doomed less face it.

I may be more positive as I'm just thinking its got to be better than Buckingham or Critchley.
