It definitely impacted him, it didn't help either that Wenger would regularly rush him back form muscle injuries

I wonder how his career would have gone had he gone to Man United instead as was rumoured

He’d have about 4 more PL titles, and we’d have probably got promoted in 2008-09 as he’d have stayed on loan, not that I’m bitter or anything

        Re: Rambo's Goodbye

Aaron Ramsey must be the only legend of a club having played less than 50 games in total! I will simply leave it there, but if he's a club legend then Derek Showers, Brian Attlee, Neil Etheridge should have a statue in the car park!!!

BUT he is a thoroughly nice bloke, speaks well and says the right things but his fame was earned in the red shirts of Arsenal and Wales.

Welsh legend yes - but not a Cardiff City one.

And as a manager he was completely unproven. Plus his record in games he played over the last two years was poor - which may have had something to do with things. BBM will be hung out to dry by Christmas if we are not in the top 6...

Will we ever find out what happened with any managerial discussions between the club and Rambo?

Who knows, maybe one day he'll return as manager after "cutting his teeth" elsewhere and triumphantly take us to Wembley and the Premiership.
And then again, maybe he won't.

Only this board could persuade a player that wanted to move back to Wales for his family, to move 5,500 miles away to further his career.

He was paid something in the region of £3m by the club for two years! I do not think the board can be criticised for anything regarding Aaron Ramsey's playing career. It was a very expensive gamble which did not pay off, for reasons beyond CCFC's control it did not work out at all.

I’m not disputing he wasn’t paid well. It’s just ended acrimoniously and it’s not a good look. He’s obviously pissed off with the way it ended.

Agreed, but the club and the fans didn't get a fraction of what they wanted / expected from the deal. And not many people are prepared to offer up the other side of the discussion. As I have documented elsewhere, AR speaks well and appears a top chap BUT his signing was a complete disaster in footballing terms. Did he undergo a medical before signing? We will never know...

I know and understand I am pushing water uphill here (no pun intended) as he can do no wrong in many fans eyes, but some perspective needs to be applied.

Good luck to him in Mexico, let us see how many games he plays.

Oh I agree and if he weren’t a Welsh legend he wouldn’t have had the support he has done.
