    Re: Tiger Tobin

I'm guessing you're flagging this one up due to his name? It seems to becoming more common. My son knew a lad in school called Tiger, and they played in the same football team together for years. It wasn't this guy, though.

I would have stuck it on the Under 21 and Academy thread if it wasn’t for Tiger. I was going to say that, apart from some golfer i seem to remember, I’d never seen Tiger as a first name before, but going a long way back into my youth, I can remember this guy, it looks like Tiger was again a nickname though.

There was also a boxer called Dick Tiger, but it looks like that was just a case of him changing his name for his profession.

I see what you mean though, seems it’s a name that’s becoming increasingly frequent, particularly for boys.

Tiger as in Woods was a nickname as well. His first name was actually Eldrick. Many years ago in the changing room at Royal Porthcawl he was listed as that on the team sheet for the Walker Cup back in the 1995.

He'll feel at home wearing a stripey kit.

I’d be lion if I said I’d heard of him.

There used to be Tobins from Port Talbot who followed the City.

I wonder if this young lad is from that way like the Colwill boys.

                        Anyone know of any lynx?

Fair play, it takes some doing to have the most notable name amongst a group that includes "Tank"
