I'm pretty sure he was talking about the South Africans on Twitter too (although I'm not registered there).

Clearly talks have happened but Tan has moved the goalposts. No doubt he's been advised not to sell at the minute, which to be fair is perfectly understandable (why sell the club at its lowest?) and is likely gambling on City getting automatic promotion so he can demand a higher fee. He clearly won't be able to bank roll us back to the Premier League. He is gonners within 18 months imo.
Yeah but the odd thing is, if rumours are true, that what they offered for the club was more than average for a championship club, let alone a league 1 club. Remembering that Tan is completely batshit, he no doubt thinks he’s onto something finally and not only will we fly up this year he no doubt thinks we will go straight through with the momentum gained and he’s all rosey again.

In that article he plays it down and says the club dismisses the rumours, which he got pelters for on social media. I'm not sure I'd call that article stirring the pot

"Sources indicate there are currently up to three separate groups exploring the possibility of acquiring Cardiff City. One of those is believed to be the so-called ‘South African consortium’ that has sparked particular intrigue among fans over the past couple of days.

"Some eagle-eyed supporters even noticed that Gary Otto, a South African-born investor now based in California, recently followed Cardiff City and head coach Brian Barry-Murphy on social media.

"Otto, who made his fortune in real estate and is a joint-owner of non-League side Sutton United, has a track record of pursuing stakes in football clubs. In recent years, he has reportedly made unsuccessful ownership approaches to Leeds United, Coventry City, MK Dons, and overseas clubs including Le Havre, Nancy, and Lugano FC. He is believed to be part of a larger investment group showing interest in the Bluebirds."

I'd call that stirring the pot. I'm pretty sure the BBC didn't even bother to report the alleged interest from a South African consortium. The whole thing came from X, the message boards, the podcasts and Walesonline.

I reckon Glen Williams is another who runs with the hare and the hounds, so to speak. Pretty sure he was name-checked in the podcast TOBW endorsed.

Don't get it twisted. Have no time for Mr "Buy my book" whatsoever and have never signed up to his website. But unfortunately we have City fans amongst us who are so miserable that they almost take pleasure in City not kicking on, just so that they can call people who want the best for their club out and accuse them of lying. Sad really, but you do you my friend.

And goes on to say; "However, WalesOnline understands the overall picture has not changed significantly in recent days, with discussions continuing privately in the background.

All interested parties are said to have submitted ‘letters of intent’, but no formal offers to acquire a significant stake in the club have been made at this stage.

The identities behind the third group remain unknown.

Meanwhile, WalesOnline has spoken to Cardiff’s board to address some of the recent rumours circulating online.

They have strongly denied claims that a representative from the South African consortium flew to Monaco to meet chairman Mehmet Dalman to negotiate a deal. They have also refuted suggestions that any prospective buyers have toured Cardiff City Stadium and also say there are no meetings lined up in the UK this week, per some claims.

Importantly, the board has dismissed any notion that ongoing takeover talks are delaying transfer activity."

So basically that whole article can be summed up as "There's some rumours going around, I asked around about them, club have said nothing's really happening". Kind of local journalism 101 and I wouldn't say it stirred the pot

The BBC don't tend to write anything about speculation, WalesOnline is a different outlet that follows a different business model. Anyway its all irrelevant, Gareth Bale is buying us for 1 billion pounds and installing himself as free kick taker

Actually, Dalman never said he didn't meet representatives/anyone connected to the South African consortium.

In what respect? Gareth Bale said on video that there was an offer tendered. A "good' one. This is a fact. In your opinion, was he winding up the fan base? Or was a serious offer made?
