So why play England and risk giving ourselves a tougher draw for the Play Offs then?

Yes its close to the Belgium game but we would have played someone so the risk of injury is always there whoever we play, and players shouldn’t have an issue playing 2 games in 5 days at this stage of the season. I understand that some narrow-minded folk will be annoyed we’ve lost to England but this isn’t rugby - we don’t have a rivalry with England in football as we cannot even begin to compete with them and never will. They are aiming to win a World Cup and we are just hoping to make up the numbers.
I saw Peter Bradbury saying he wanted to see Wales beat England for the first time in his life. That brought home to me just how poor we’ve been against England for the last four decades or so. I’m not saying that Wales wins over the English were common when I was younger, but we were generally a lot more competitive against them than we are now. Off the top of my head, I can recall Wales winning three times against England in the ten years before fixtures between the countries ceased on an annual basis. Since then, England’s results in major tournaments have got better, so you can assume they’ve improved a bit, but then so have we and yet we have stopped playing with hwyl and belief against the English - apart from 2016, i can’t remember the last time we gave England a decent match.

Bad result and a bad decision to play that game. They are one of the top 5 teams in the world though so it's not a huge surprise to lose like that. They put 5 past Serbia away last match and Serbia are a similar ranking to us.

Hope it galvanises the players rather than demoralises them on Monday. JJ's got to start.

There is that but going up on the Flixbus is a bit too prudent.

Exactly, would cost about 15 bob for 30 platform tickets:thumbup:

We got outclassed in 2016- we scored because of a keeper error (Bale's free kick should have been a routine save) and then parked the bus. Seeing as how some bang on about how Wales play with so much more pride and passion than England, it's funny how we always get battered by them.

We needed to face some pressure at the back before we play Belgium. Job done

                      1. Forget about the ColwillÂ’s, why canÂ’t Jordan James get into that side in front of Liam Cullen?
                      ?
He's played 1 recognised midfielder a lot which I thikn is insanity - particularly against the likes of England. I know we have a lack of depth in MF but you've got to think a 6 and 8 of Ampadu and James/Sheean/J Colwill would give us a much better balance.

I'm not sure I've ever as a 29 year old seen Wales not look like a pub team against England, the moment just appears to get too much for them. Either that or all the English players in our squad are conspiring :hehe:

They're just man for man a better team than us, it's as simple as that really. Put us against most of the top 10 in the world and it'll be the same, I don't think the moment has anything to do with it

I really can't say I have much affinity to our national football team nowadays. Anything I receive from a public institution is written in Welsh 1st, the road signs the same, the signage in our supermarkets is Welsh first. OK, I'll put up with that, but re-branding the football team as Cymru is plain daft and is typical of the small man syndrome that afflicts the Welsh F.A.

I am not a Welsh speaker, but if ‘small man syndrome’ is an accurate description for anyone it is not for the people promoting the language!
