  • Canton makes BBC news

One of UK's 'coolest neighbourhoods' blighted by crimewave
More than a dozen businesses in one suburb have been victims of break-ins or attempted break-ins.

I like Canton but 3rd coolest place to live in the UK is ridiculous

There’s a new cafe (2 weeks old), opened up on the corner opposite the Napier and the posh brigade are queuing up every day to get in there

      £20 a breakfast

Thefts in shops at the moment too are getting worse.

Police maybe aren't always the most pro active but I also know stores that are so used to it that half the time they don't even want to bother pursuing a complaint.

Not been there myself but walked past a few small queues of people waiting for coffee, they're not posh they're just young and dress differently to you.

Also, it's £12 a breakfast https://www.ubereats.com/gb/store/ha...8EDgpUFINAxtfR. Might not be to your taste but there's still plenty of good greasy spoons in Canton so no need to make stuff up about a new small local business

So at least 8 Notting Hill, Shoreditch, Chelsea, Covent Garden, Brixton, Dalston, Camden, Hampstead, Peckham, Kensington are not as cool as Canton?

                Ok, I concede, £18.00 + tea/cofffee.

                There again I don’t, that’s over £20

They are conflating Canton and Poncanna. Take the latter away and there is no story

Being a bit disingenuous there BT, you've picked the "extra extra large farmers brekkie" which is their special monster one. The regular is £11.95. I wish I had a pound for everything you moan about, I'd live off the extra extra large farmers brekkie

Had a pre match meal at the Italian Way today - bottom of Cowbridge Rd. Very much enjoyed.

I take my hat off to the person or persons robbing Cactus plants, and sizeable ones at that. Surely they're in training for some kind of farcical sketch show. I wonder if they put one of the smaller plants down their pants. Never going to end well.

Notting Hill hasn’t been cool for decades. Shoreditch hasn’t been cool for about 10 years, it’s just full of people who get the train in from
Essex now. Chelsea hasn’t been cool in this millennium. Covent Garden has never been cool. Brixton is still cool. Dalston is an absolute dump these days - since COVID it’s somehow de-gentrified. Hampstead has never been cool. Peckham is still cool. Kensington has never been cool.
