Fans' group Football Supporters Europe says it is "astonished" by Fifa's "extortionate" pricing strategy for World Cup tickets.

It's not for normal fans like us Paul.

I watched Nottingham Forest beat Malmö in the European Cup Final in Munich in 1979 - and paid DM11 (£2.58) for a ticket.

By the way, when Wales were at the Euro finals in Frrance, I purchased a ticket for Austria v Hungary at 100 Euros - but on the way to the ground they could be picked up en masse for 10 Euros a head.

Isn't that like the pathway ticket, assuming your team goes all the way?

"In Qatar, group stage fixtures had set prices of £68.50, £164.50 and £219.

Yet for England's match against Croatia on 17 June, tickets cost £198, £373 or £523."

It's priced for the Americans who are used to high event pricing and generally have more disposable income. Seems ridiculous to most of us but if people still pay it then it's hard to argue against.

I suspect the obscure fixtures will collapse in price in the days before.

The sad thing is it’s not really a surprise.
The big question is where will the bulk of the money go. Won’t benefit the grass roots game.
Due to being played in three countries imagine the travel cost for fans as well.

You can get a return flight from Cardiff to Toronto for just over £1k to take in Wales' first game if we qualify. Hope there's a decent fan park.

I paid $1300 for 2 tickets directly from FIFA for a numbered game which turned out to be Norway v Senegal.

If Wales qualify I'll sell them and go to Toronto or LA.

My Ticket for Wales v USA in Qatar was $347.

If we make it there, Toronto v Canada is what I was thinking.
Those prices though are really taking the piss.

Surely not, it’s the land of free speech.

I am going to Miami to watch Scotland V Brazil with a couple of pals . We have ordered 4 tickets at just under £900 each . There are plenty tickets on football tickets.net but they start at £1200 Flights were £1300 , sharing a house and a car hire . I know it’s mental money but , for us it’s possibley the last time we will see Scotland in the finals .
I looked at going to Boston to catch the Haiti and Morocco game in a week with my partner . Cheapest hotel was £6000 …. I had to give that one a miss .

Just after we booked TUI Edinburgh were offering flights and a hotel in Miami for £1300 5 nights I think it was … so don’t rush into anything if Wales get through 👍

In fairness there are daft fuuckers who'll pay and thus endorse FIFA's absolute greed.

I'm sure Infantino is trying to kill the game.
