Re: So, when do we sell?

I worry that Salech may attract a big bid in January from a Championship side.
Don't think Tan will sell without a fight as CCFC will be worth a lot more if we go up and selling players at this stage could be disastrous for us.

They'll trust him and want to stay, feeling it's far better for their development.
What will that player get paid to warm the bench at man city tho? I know it's crass but these guys are going to live until they are 100; and will likely have a little over 10 years to earn the money to fund them through that. There is more to life than money but being paid over a million a year would be ample compensation for a lack of first team football. I know they should earn good money in league 1 by anyone's standards, but I'm not sure it's ever a mistake to take a material increase in pay. Especially in a career that is incredibly short.

            Fun facts:

Cian Ashford and Joel Colwill are the same age (21) as Alejandro Garnacho.

Joel Bagan and Isaak Davies are the same age (24) as Moises Caicedo.

Dylan Lawor is the same age (19) as four of Chelsea's starting line-up last night.

First things 1st we need to get out of this dreadful league.

Then lets kick on with these young players and manager and invest in adding quality and returning to the PL.

If we go up this manager needs to be backed.

Of course if a big offer comes in they will gone but I don't see any of them being subject to bids from a top 6 PL side so lets get there ourselves and keep them.

                They costs big money.

Lawlor and Kpakio will be the ones bigger teams are looking at.

Both playing there first full season so how they develop this season and progress, will be key for teams looking.

I think we keep them this season, maybe next depending how big the other teams are/if they come in.

Salech will get championship attention imo but still back us to keep him.

I maybe wrong and happy to be prove wrong but I don’t feel like we are massively a selling club, if anything in the past we have kept onto players a little to long.

In fact, two of Chelsea's 19 year-olds (Acheampong and George) came through their academy in the same way that Lawlor came through ours.

And if it doesn't work out then just drop down a level. I agree with you.

                      Yep

It's mercenary. But what do want footballers want from a career? Romantically, its continual development and a love for the game. But all footballers are young men, and they should have advisors. And those advisors should advise them that they are a bad challenge away from unemployment. So work hard but take the money when it comes. No questions, no judgement. It's not disloyal, it's just the right thing to do.

Earn what you can to support your family. If you love your hometown club, show it by buying a season ticket when you have retired.
