Looking a bit ominous now. Starting to click into gear at the right time. It could be a shoot out between us and them for top spot. With the likes of Lincoln, Bradford, Stockport etc, this division is every bit as competitive and compelling as the championship.

Re: Luton
We have problems in defence and we don’t put away enough of the chances we create to have much confidence about where we will finish. Unless we find a way of addressing these two problems, even in part, we are likely to be in for a very nervy second half of the season.
As you point out there are a couple of sides who, if they went on a run, could easily undo our chances.

That's a fairly pessimistic view.Originally posted by light up the darkness View PostWe have problems in defence and we don’t put away enough of the chances we create to have much confidence about where we will finish. We are scoring more than we are conceding, that's why we are top of the league, four points clear with a game in hand on second place.
If anything, now that we are out of the cup and have fewer International distractions, we are looking more consistent and should pull away.
This is still a work in progress; these players are growing in confidence and, if anything, are getting better as the season progresses.

Re: Luton
They’re only 9 points off 2nd place. I’ve always found unless there is a standout team in the lower divisions, then a team who can time its run to perfection will conquer.Originally posted by Trigger View PostWon their last two comfortably but just two of last 5. Would be a hell of a run from them to get near top two.
Might be wrong, but I think Luton are that team in this division. We are the best in the division ability wise, so once the Jan transfer window closes, unless someone has a big spending spree, I see the final top 2 positions being fought out by the Hatters and ourselves. Watch this space.

2nd highest scorers.
2nd on clean sheets.
Only 4 clubs conceded fewer.
We could do better but I'm not quite sure realistically by how much.

We've had some nervy games of course but there's a reason we're top

What criticism are you referring to? There’s only been one observation in this thread so far that you could describe as mildly concerning.Originally posted by City123 View PostExactly, some of the criticisms seem a bit odd tbh

Re: Luton
I don't think it's that simple though. Rightly or wrongly there's going to be expectations, due to the fact that for 20 years or so we were a very competitive championship outfit (For the best part) two cup finals a league championship and two hits at the premier league. I haven't really seen much criticism although I don't engage with Twitter, Facebook etc. we have a high proportion of supporters who probably believe that we should not be at this level, so expectations are high, and that's how it should be in my opinion.Originally posted by City123 View PostYes not just here but social media too.
