Re: David Turnbull
Being objective, we do have to take in to account the level they're both playing at, at the moment.Originally posted by bluesp View PostI think the likes of Turnbull and Wintle are showing what they’re really about this season after the “management “ of the last season or two.

Re: David Turnbull
Excellent goal today. However, Turnbull has started just 10 of City’s 26 league games this season. Today’s was his first league goal in 2025/26. He’s only scored two league goals in two years at the club.Originally posted by bluesp View PostI think the likes of Turnbull and Wintle are showing what they’re really about this season after the “management “ of the last season or two.
If everyone in the squad is fit, does Turnbull make the starting line-up?

to rotate the team and make use of the subs. What is BBMs best and preferred XI? Does anyone know? Does he know? He says he picks the team based on the opposition.
Only Trott, Salech and Bagan have been consistently picked in the starting line up. Plus, Rubin Colwill up until his injury. The rest have to accept the rotation policy and BBM sees each game as a 15/16 man game not 11.
Turnbull has featured in 23 of the 26 league games, only 6 players has featured in more.

There was a time when I used to groan just seeing his name included in the match-day squad, never mind starting.
Fair play to him!

Re: David Turnbull
We’re seeing some performances of which his price tag suggested. Although I agree with TLG, we haven’t seen enough of these performances over the time here.
Also it’s one of the few times I’ve seen it working well when having both Wintle and Turnbull on the pitch and I can’t pinpoint why.

Re: David Turnbull
They weren't playing in the same area of the pitch yesterday which would have helped. Turnbull was further forward but out towards the right rather than in the 10 position.Originally posted by WJ99mobile View PostWe’re seeing some performances of which his price tag suggested. OK, perhaps I should have phrased the question differently: if everyone in the squad is fit and you are picking the side, does Turnbull make the starting line-up?Originally posted by Henry Hill View PostDaft question considering how much BBM likes

Incidentally, 14 players have started more League One games this season than Turnbull, while Robertson, who was out of favour for a significant part of the season, has made the same number of starts.
I should point out that I think Turnbull has proved a useful squad member in League One so far this season, but that’s the least you’d expect from a player who was signed for a fee of around £2 million and who was playing in the Champions League a few months before arriving here.
