Not if you don't watch it. And if you don't watch it, how can you tell?

I forced myself to watch it as there was nothing else on. A team loses possession or someone scores and we have 5 minutes or so of some English guy and 2 ex players in discussion and that is apart from the breaks between quarters. God knows how the majority of the 65 players on the team roster who never get on the field of play feel especially in weather like that!. Imagine the kicker sat in his hut with a coffee watching Tom & Jerry videos getting the call for his 30 second cameo to go out in that weather. What a stupid game that has teams within teams with individuals who have probably never met each other and have to wander around on the sidelines for THREE hours. Pity the poor buggers that are morbidly obese who actually get on the pitch and whose sole purpose is to push and shove but , in the whole of their careers, never touch the football. At best I might watch NFL highlights but to watch a whole game, no thanks!

            Why?

There are other things you could have done.

150 million people will be suffering ‘stultifying boredom’ in a couple of weeks! :hehe:

Some Brits don’t get NFL/MLB, and some Americans don’t get cricket/soccer, that’s not to say any of them sports are “boring”, they’re just not fully understood I guess.

Exactly. I didn't understand baseball until a fan explained the battle between pitcher and batter to me. There is a LOT more going on than you might understand if you are just waiting for the home runs.

NFL is great when you get it. Like chess with athletes. And it throws up some incredible drama. Not sure why it draws so much hate to be honest. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I watched a lot of the second match, it's not a sport I'm into but that's the sort of match that's a good advertisement for it.

                  The first doesn't look great.

Definitely, I also find betting £20 on a team to win makes it really dramatic!

Yeah…the conditions were awful….running the ball in the snow on a 3rd down and 15! :hehe:

I understand the game from playing the Madden games growing up, but I've struggled as a spectator so only watch the Superbowl.

To the fans of NFL, dont the stop start and long breaks get a bit annoying? Or is it part of the experience for you?

No I find them “ boring “. The compliance with TV adverts has extended the NFL game into a lack of consistency and with the over development of various skill sets within the already inflated player squad has denuded spontaneity. As regards MLB even the Yanks are moving away from the afternoon ball game ritual. Imagine T20 cricket when no batsman actually hits the ball lawfully for a whole innings. Even the most rabid Indian supporters would switch off. And yet in MLB it frequently happens that in 9 innings there is not one legit hit. The “World Series “ is a joke as are the frequent efforts to establish NFL leagues outside of the US.
IMO one game that isn’t boring is NHL, probably why it’s played in many countries outside of North America!

I don’t mind the stop starts, make a cup of tea, have a piss, phone your mate, check your emails….lots to do in the breaks:thumbup:

How do you cope with not being able to see the puck? …..I find that the worst part!
