    Re: 57,744

I don’t like watching Wales, I find them incredibly boring. I also think a sizeable swathe of the fans can be arseholes on six nation days. The other reasons like the media, the schooling etc have been well versed on here.

However, it is local Welsh boys trying to do well for country and it supports the local economy.

Sometimes you got to hold your nose. Hopefully they turn it around, a lot of the towns around wales rely on their local rugby club. Will be a shame for that to go.

          Re: 57,744

Rugby has become incredibly dull not helped by the kicking game, pointless scrums and rule changes. I am so pleased my grandchildren show no desire for the sport and to the contrary was delighted to give one of them a replica City kit for his 4th birthday today.

Funny is probably not a word I would use. But, it doesn't bother me one iota. And if I'm honest, if it helps Welsh football to grow, I would welcome it.

How could the decline of one help the other? Wouldn't it be better for both to be successful and popular as they were not too long ago.

17 year-old Lewin Nyatanga made his debut that night. He was being touted as a future superstar who was worth multi-millions. Didn’t quite work out that way.
And the PA bloke announced him as Lewis not Lewin.

Last competitive game at the Millennium had a surprisingly high attendance of 68,959, though I'd imagine that was to do with England being the opposition

The previous competitive home game there had a slightly smaller crowd of 14,505 as we lost 3-1 to Russia

Of the 57000, from what they said perhaps no more than 45000 were Welsh fans too.

It'll be a momentous moment in time, the day that the Welsh Tiddly Winks Association folds and crumbles. What will people say then i wonder?

I have a sneaking suspicion that Welsh exiles are far more bothered by the decline of Welsh rugby than the vast majority of Welsh football fans who actually live here.

Perhaps it shouldn't be that way considering the size of the country, but it's understandable if you are a born-and-bred Welsh football fan who still lives in Wales.

It was all a bit pathetic, though. I caught the last 10 minutes and the post match comments and you'd have sworn Wales had given the French a game with all the positive spin being put on it by the Welsh commentators/analysts. Imagine losing 7-2 at home and putting a positive spin on it.

That was a bit weird, but I guess when you are so far away from getting anywhere close to the opposition, any small shoots of recovery or improvement need to be looked at. Not having a single player yellow-carded was some sort of positive.
