Lawmakers are adamant VAR checks on corners must not delay the kick being taken and will only be used to spot obvious errors. Corner-kick checks will be an option, rather than a mandatory part of the VAR protocol.
VARs will also only check incorrectly-awarded second yellow cards. They will not advise referees to issue a second yellow card where one was not shown on the field.

Weren't we told that VAR would only be used for "clear and obvious" errors when it was first brought in?
That worked out well, like
If anything needs a time limit, it is the VAR process itself - if you can't resolve it in 30 seconds,
or even a minute, then it is NOT "clear and obvious", Like a toenail being offside ?!
Easy, tigers. Don’t shoot the messenger. I was only passing on the report.
I hate VAR. It would be abolished tomorrow if I had my way. Blame those people who advocated for its introduction, such as Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock. And blame the Premier League clubs who voted to introduce it, such as Cardiff City Football Club.

If it's clear and obvious, it's obvious and should be pointed out at the time. 30 seconds is 30 seconds too long. It is killing the game.
