Who cares, we need to be far more worried about Bolton who will no doubt be inspired by how shite we were today….a shocking result
Well you care enough to reply. My point is that matches we should be winning we aren't. And Lincoln that are a minnow of a club are widening the gap. I'm not worried about clubs below as we will be promoted.... 100%
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 0 BLACKPOOL. Match thread
We are clearly missing Salech although we got away with playing a false 9 for quite a while.
I still have no idea what BBM thinks he is going to achieve by replacing Robertson with the completely and continually anonymous Turnbull. Surely J Colwill is a more obvious swap???
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 0 BLACKPOOL. Match thread
Yet another game where the lack of a target man caused us to loose points. Teams defend deep against us, and if they keep their shape, we are lost.
Lincoln would have slung some high balls in the box and won easily.
Why BBM didn't get a big striker as cover for Salech, I do not know. Anyone of several we had in recent years would have done the job.
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 0 BLACKPOOL. Match thread
It was quite telling that with only 30 seconds left of injury time we chose ponderous sideways balls on the edge of our own box rather than lumping it up field in the hope of it landing at Robinsons (or any of our players) feet.
So much fannying about in possession today in and around their box only to lose the ball before getting a shot off, I appreciate they came (and set up) for a point but we are hopeless at breaking teams down at the moment.

That was a frustrating watch.
Rhubarb.
Walking the ball around the back four give the opposing teams time and then some to organise their two banks of defenders, you have to assume that the players have been directed to do this BBM has abandoned the quick playing style of a few weeks ago in favour of the defensive cautious approach to walk promotion over the line.

Exactly this and I agree, it does seem to be a purposeful tactic to kill the game off and harvest the point(s)

4 points from 18. 1 point from 6. Still 21 to play for. It's looking shaky. I really was expecting to finish this week in a tight race with Lincoln. We could be 7 points behind them by 5pm. And only 8 in front of Bolton. This break could have only come at a better time if it was last weekend.

BBM starting to piss me off now. No adaptability, we've thrown winning the league (although Lincoln more than deserve it), and everyone knows how to play against us. I think we've got enough to pass the auto promotion finish line, but we'll be skewered in the Championship if we don't change things.

I wouldn't say we walked the ball around the back four that much. We do recycle to maintain possession and I'm OK with that. It's the trying to pass our way through a packed penalty area that bothers me. We probably have a the most skillful team in the division, but they're not magicians. Even poor defenders can get in the way if there's 9 of them.

Good players find a way. No doubt there will be the usual excuses, but it's on our players to create that little bit of magic that changes the game in games like today, and Wycombe up until the sending off. That's what good players do.
