  • Coyote's basic plan for the 26/27 season

Sell Tanner (fine at League One level, not good enough for Championship) and Robinson (same, can't keep up with Championship standard anymore). If a good offer is given (10 mil or so), sell Lawlor.

Buy a good right-winger (ACD from Brighton on loan to Bolton might be optimistic?), buy Tolaj from Plymouth (Ballard likely too expensive), buy a good left back to cover and compete with Bagan (Scanlon on a free could be an option). Replace Lawlor if sold.

Assess everything else preseason, like King's recovery from injury, Osho/Chambers viability in defence, midfield etc. Potentially get Kellyman on a permanent.

We should try and keep Lawlor, we create a lot of chances, our weakness is the centre of defence so let him and fish build a solid foundation. Another striker is a must and keep Kelly man

Jordan James from Leicester would be available if they get relegated

I'm out when you said we should sell our top assister.

I'd try to keep Lawlor and keep Tanner, but would look for another right winger as well. I can't see Robinson wanting to stay even if it was an option.

Jayden Wareham from Exeter might be a useful addition up front.

Would love JJ here and think he would suit our style, but he's on loan from Rennes so not a Leicester player. Any talk of selling Lawlor is madness atm if we want to progress.

He’s only at Leicester on loan isn’t he?

I’d definitely resist any bids for Lawlor of £10 million or below because I reckon we could be asking £20 million or more for him with a season of Championship football behind him - provided we go up of course.

I think it’s hard to speculate on how many new signings we make and how much we will be pay for them in light of the losses set out in the accounts - don’t forget we’re committed to spending close to £2 million on Trott if we go up.

I'd love to see the percentage rate of successful balls he plays. Single digits maybe off hundreds?

73.9% this season apparently. In comparison Wintle is over 88% but you’d expect an attacking player to be lower as less safe/ sideways passes attempted.

I wouldnÂ’t sell Tanner, he is constantly improving his game.
Yes, he needs to cut out the careless inside pass that concedes possessionÂ… the one where we tend to get punished on the counter attack.
His corners are a bit hit and miss, but he is getting better, but I would like to see those where he delivers well, to be put in with more pace, al a Whitts. If he continues to improve, he will easily be good enough for the Championship. I think Tanner is a maverick type of player that, my guess, maybe BBM might not have looked at playing. But he creates chances does things less predictably and keeps on improving, which makes him a valuable player.

I would not sell Lawler for £10 million, in my opinion that would be a scandalous under value of his talent. People are going to take me to task over this, but in my opinion, he is going to be playing for one of the major clubs in the Premier League or one of the big boys in Europe.

However the main thing we need to do is convince BBM that Cardiff is the place to be. A clear plan of improvement needs to be agreed between him and the owners that year on year improves us.
If that happens, I think we will be on to a winner, because if he can take a lot of these players that last season struggled to string 3 passes together and transform them to be comfortable in possession, then imagine what he could do with a green light of, say, a 5 year plan utilising better players.

I would have thought £20m plus sell on fee. The fact he looks so comfortable at international level is what stands out.

Tan and BBM need to get together and work out what they both want. That's more important than anything.

Not adding another decent finisher up front could end up with the same damp squib run as we have had in recent weeks when Salech was unavailable. We would be less concerned about our defence if we were scoring more up front.

                            I couldn’t have put it better myself, in fact, I didn’t. 😀

I had a discussion yesterday with a City fan who was disappointed we didnÂ’t invest in a striker as cover (even before Salech became injured), but I disagreed and said that I felt that a rush to get cover in January would be less beneficial than getting a better option who might be abailable at the start of a new campaignÂ… especially if there was to be fee involved.

I think that BBM knows exactly the type of player he wants, and is not willing to accept a substandard temporary solution if it is not necessary.
