  • The Blues are going up

It all came into focus yesterday. Our win, Bradford losing, our domination, scoring goals from set pieces as well as quick counter attack and showing that we are far too good for this division.

Last week was stressful, I could not shake off the thoughts that we could blow it, but all that's gone now. We are not going to blow it.

The dip in results has handed Lincoln the title but it's not going to stop us from getting the promotion that we have had pretty much in the bag all season.

The decline last season took all the heart out of me. I went to games through habit and not for any sort of enjoyment, I basically didn't give a shit how we got on, but this season has re-energised me and I love going home and away again.

I've been fortunate to be at eight of the nine league games we've won away this season (missed Luton)

Wimbledon, Wigan, Northampton, Stevenage, Bradford, Rotherham, Doncaster and Exeter

They've all been fantastic with late winners, big wins, freezing cold, pouring rain, overcrowded trains, overnight stays, a lift in TBG's van!, motorway miles in the car.

Hoping next Saturday at Reading we will get to do what Lincoln did last week and celebrate a promotion.

I saw something a few weeks back where someone ran the last dozen or so of every club in LeagueOne’s fixtures and 10,000 times and we ended up finishing in the top two in something like9,960 of them - I was pretty certain we were going up until I read that! Saturday felt like a confirmation we were going up, but it wasn’t of course - the thing is though, Northampton are all but down now and they will be when we play them, while it’s hard to see how the same won’t apply to Port Vale. As you imply, I reckon Bolton and Bradford have all but given up on a top two finish now and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Stockport and Stevenage are thinking the same.

Geez, you really have had some experiences on the road this season. Glad to see you came through it. :hehe:

Doesn't feel quite as good as Andy Campbell half volleying us into the second tier in the millennium stadium, but no doubt about it now, the Blues are going up

It was ironic that he was probably the least likable player at the time and often couldn't be bothered in putting in much effort.
The script was for Earnie to have scored the goal that got us promoted that day!

I recall QPR's centre backs giving each other a high five when Earnie was subbed.

If we don't score first we are screwed.

It's clear we wait and wait and wait for the opposition to come out, which they are doing less so later into the season.

We then resort to low % long shots as we have no hope in hell scoring from a corner.

We need some more enforcement from Salech next season, and a bit more rough from the defenders from corners at both ends of the field.

I've not really had a wobble or the doubt you've mentioned, maybe it's because I'm a bit younger :hehe:.

I've really tried to enjoy this season, it's been so much more enjoyable than the last god knows how many. Soon be back in the Championship, though hopefully with a bit of a spring in our step this time!

Agreed, it was a wobble but even then it was 3 defeats in 9 and also included two 4 nil away wins. We were never not going to win 2 more games at some point which would in most scenarios be enough, not least because the chasing pack weren't winning enough anyway.

Just get it confirmed as soon as possible and i'd love us to finish on 2 points a game or at least break 90 which if we win tomorrow then looks far more likely.

I've never understood this panic. we thought that Lincoln were gone when they were only 4 points in front of us. If we needed to win 4 out of 5, now 5 of 5, I'm pretty sure we would think it was a lost cause. We've never been less than 7 ahead of our rivals for a long time, usually double digits. I can't get my head around some who felt we were bottling it.
