We know that NHS and care homes are top of the list. What I would like to know is why someone in England, who is 88, with no vulnerable problems, has received their first jab, while people in Wales over 90 have not heard anything. ?

Yes, I’d like to know that, my aunt is 97 and her daughter contacted her GP Surgery today and was told they had no information as they haven’t received the vaccine and don’t know when they will! Shocking.

They should be asking Drakeford this Friday when will all surgeries have the vaccine. Also why havent they got them now.

If its just supply fair enough. If not sort it out. Every surgery needs to be giving these vaccines daily and now not next week , or next month. Sort it out!!!

                  Re: Vaccine rollout in wales

Tories are calling for specific minister to be in charge of this. Could this be start of them supporting expanding the Senedd given the amount of work to do this year and over next couple of years at least?

According to this, the amount of vaccinations in Wales for the week ending 3 Jan was around half of what it was the previous week.

The tories have a minister in England responsible for vaccination

                      He's not doing very well

                        Re: Vaccine rollout in wales

There should be plans in place for any problematic vaccines such as Pfizer and it's cold requirements and easy to distribute vaccines such as the Oxford one and if there isn't that is poor. However, distribution and administering of the vaccine is an NHS role and Government just pick up the costs and set the overarching agenda of who should be vaccinated first.

They should transfer him to the Sennedd, then we could keep all the idiots in one building.

Sounds hit and miss across England but BBC Wales reporting Eng vaccinated 1.97% by 3rd jan v Wal 1.56% . Worst of home nations. Seems to support the anecdotal on the mighty CCMB.

That "one of them" is well worth a follow: https://twitter.com/WillHayCardiff

Not sure how much Wales can complain about this until we're doing our part of social distancing, mask wearing, ensuring good ventilation etc. though. If we remove the distraction of hospitals reaching/going over capacity then I'm sure things will start to move much quicker.

Speaking of playing a part, has anyone seen a crowdfunder for laptops/internet packages for worse off children who might end up missing a lot of school this year?
