Could City conceivably be down and out by the time the transfer window opens in January ? There are 12 league games between now and then - taking in the New Year's Day home game with WBA. Usually a very poor side will be relegated despite creating goal scoring chances and defending well for long periods in games, but are turned over by sharper, more effective outfits. Generally teams at the bottom of their respective league will still appear to be in with a chance of getting something out of a game, but more often than not failing to come up with the goods. My own view of the team is that currently, being a club with a chance of winning/drawing the odd game is something they can aspire to, but not achieve. This run hasn't come about through moments of bad luck, refereeing decisions, missed chances, it's simply being completely outplayed week in week out, without having any period in any match where you think we've got a chance of getting something out of it.
Maybe I've overdone the glass-half-empty bit, but surely if we fail to get a minimum of 3 points from our next 3 games, you've got to wonder where the they're going to come from..
