Agree, we can’t go on like this year after year

What will happen when Covid becomes secondary to seasonal winter 'flu ? The Govt. now has a template for these things, and with - let's say 90-95% - of the population still compliant after 2 years, I have no doubt that we'll see restrictions on movement, gatherings, wearing of masks, etc., each winter.

Agreed, passports are uselsss. Queued for 30 minutes to get into Madness on monday night, and then was pretty much waved straight in. The queuing probably increased the covid risk rather more than the passport reduced it!

Seems a bit daft that you can get a passport after having your second jab, but at the same time we all need a booster to help reduce the spread of omicron.

Just heard from daughters school that all schools in Wales are staying closed on the 4th and 5th January. This must be the first decision coming from the cabinet meting today

My two granddaughters have just been asked if they need lap tops for learning at home in the new year

Looks like schools are shutting

Not good signs for the rest of us

I am pretty close to quite a few teachers and havent heard this. Not that it would surprise me, but I think they will all ne taking stock on how dangerous the Omicron variant is.

It's no coincidence that the lines of people waiting for jabs has increased since it was said a third jab would see it off

Had an email from my sons school, looks like they are allocating couple of days to assess staff sickness and plan. Not necessarily anything more.

From reading the article that's what the 2 days are designed for. Schools won't know how many staff will be off, either isolating or sick, so don't want kids turning up on the first day with no one to teach them.
