Re: Comedy Genius Dies
Very sad, Barry Cryer really was a comedy genius. If you look through the credits of many of the better quality sitcoms over the years, Barry Cryer was involved in its writing. Very entertaining as a person too.Originally posted by life on mars View Posthttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-60154371

Re: Comedy Genius Dies
One of the best comic writers of the past century. 'Genius' is sometimes used lightly, but not with Barry Cryer.
Stephen Fry on twitter this morning :
Such sad news, one of the absolute greats of British comedy, Barry Cryer, is no more. A glorious, gorgeous, hilarious and gifted writer and performer who straddled all the comic traditions. Universally beloved … farewell, Baz.

That's it. He may not have been as much of a performer as others, but as a writer he was more prolific than most.Originally posted by Dorcus View PostVery sad, Barry Cryer really was a comedy genius.
