Yep it's a bit of a graveyard for formerly decent sized league clubs.

Notts County, Stockport and Grimsby are the only sides that have had any sort of time in the second tier in the last 40 years. Stockport were a lower League club apart from the 90s and the others have been yo-yo clubs for decades.

Seven years ago they were playing in the Conference. It shows how in many ways it's so much easier to build a team/style of play coming up through the divisions, such as Bournemouth, Brentford, and ironically Swansea. The likes of Colwill would have been comfortable in league 2, then probably league 1, and almost certainly his 'game' would be nowadays more suited to the pace of the Championship,

I thought Brentfords well documented change started when they were already in the Championship?

Looked like he was on his way to smash the toilets up in the Liberty.
Luckily those Luton fans were there to stop him. Saved themselves a pound on their next away ticket too.

He is a massive City fan, did the ayatollah when he scored at the Liberty as a player I think. However, it would be a gamble when he cares so much, and he’s failed at Stoke. He clearly gets Luton and Luton gets him but I don’t think it’s quite the tap in you make out.

Yes he fits Luton well. Maybe in the future he may be able to get a bigger club. But the Stoke failure is still fresh on his CV.
