  • Level playing field

We have our limitations, especially against a good side like Liverpool, but come on… Two major decisions when it was 0-0, both go in the favour of the better team!
Personally, I think that should have been a penalty for Cardiff and the Liverpool goalie should have been sent off.

I don’t think there would be many complaints if the Pen was given and if the keeper was off.

If it had been the other way we know the outcome - ref and var have bottled it - that's one of the key reasons I hated both our stays in the premiership

Itv coverage shite as well - no analysis of our team prior to the game and then cut Morison off 1/2 through his post match

I know they don't get much football on itv bless them but why don't they just take their pants down and have done with it

It's human nature unfortunately. It's not even as if it's something they consciously think abou either, I'm very sure the refs try to do their best to be unbiased and professional but it's hard to be.

Completely agree, I stopped watching our highlights in the premier league. You get the “anal-isists” banging on about “huh, the striker ‘felt the touch’ and was ENTITLED to go down”.
Then we had Wright and Keene banging on about the goalies foul being out of control, but cos it was a big team who deserved to win cos they are a big team get the correct decision.
Obviously I paraphrased that last point.

Human nature for the overwhelming majority of referees and officials to be biased to 6 football clubs? Yeah, right.

For the bigger club sure. If we were playing a conference club we would receive the bias.

                Re: Level playing field

Apart from the 2 var decisions every 50/50 throw in went Liverpools way.
Not once in 90 minutes did we get one go our way.
Their 2nd goal came straight after Vaulks thought we should have had a corner but a goal kick was given.
They didn't show a replay so can't say for sure but it looked a corner live.

I bet that if we were not on national TV with a rich history of success, then we would have been alright.
If the ref had given the decision, fair enough, we would have grumbled about it for decades later. But VAR is supposedly there to look for decisions that the ref may not have seen as obvious from his position on the pitch.
Personally, here are two clear decisions that as a biased supporter saw that should go our way, then as a neutral football fan, VAR decisions should have gone to Cardiff.

I don’t think we would have.

Penalty decision was a difficult one.
Goalkeeper's foul was never going to earn a red card - there was a defender behind him.

Boot off ground, studs showing, out of control = dangerous play

If it had been the other way around, they would have had both. It’s Liverpool

Not really. The so-called top 6 get biased coverage even against other PL sides.
