Because Leeds could buy him for 8m, which they kept kicking down the road to beat FFP! And Leeds kept paying Man City loan fees to make it happen.

yes he's highly rated at man city. think there's a chance he'll go out on loan again next season though.

we won't have done our chances of picking up more good players from them any harm though, especially when you consider how the loan to Hamburg basically wasted half a season of development for him.

We have never seemed to utilise the loan market very well, unlike our near neighbours for example. I guess clubs didn’t want to lend their players who could play to Warnock or MM maybe. It’s great to see for some many reasons, more willing to follow suit, our young players getting quality people around them, entertaining us and no doubt progression up the table.
I don’t think I can recall us have so much young talent coming through, it was always just the odd one….
