I'm off beforeni get accused of kicking an argument off anyway for having an opinion :hehe:

Uche is on let's see what he can pull off today
Wrong, Dixie Dean scored 60 in 39 games in the Football League Division One in 1927/28 to lead Everton to the Championship. The same trophy in the current Championship that we won under Malky Mackay.

Division 2 and the championship no?

I'm not arguing the toss over this anyway, it's just a different name, and I don't get what people get so worked up over.

It was called that, also known as The FA Challenge Trophy though. The reason for that was that originally the winners from the previous season would automatically play in the next season’s final. So Oxford University got through to the 1873 final to challenge the 1872 winners, Wanderers, who won again having only played one game, the final.

Don’t you get annoyed when the City are involved though? When they say that the ‘89 League Championship was the closest, when us City fans know different.

How many goals do we reckon Mitrovic would get if he played for say, Man City or Liverpool?

No. What a thing to get angry over.

Very few as he'd rarely get a game.

Scored 14 in three years at Newcastle. Is he another ‘Too good for the second tier, cant quite cut it in the top tier’ type of player? A good question maybe would be how many would Salah, Mané, Mahrez or Sterling score for Fulham in the Championship this season.

I think if he played for an attacking side, he'd score a fair few. He played mostly in an awful Newcastle side, or a dire one under Rafa. And he's certainly a better player than when he left. He's not the best pro, though which might have something to do with it.

Joint closest. Only two seasons where points and goal difference were the same. We lost out on goal average but would have won the league under the current system of goal difference, then goals scored as we scored and conceded 1 more than Huddersfield.

As it was, a win at Birmingham on the last day would have crowned us champions. We drew 0-0. Huddersfield won 3-0 at home to Forest. Had they won by less we would have been champions. If they'd have won 4-1 I have no idea what would have happened as our records would have been identical. 5-2 would have meant us being champions.

We could have walked the league that season. We were 6 points clear at the top in early February before a run of 7 games without a win, including 4 defeats in a row left us a little off the pace. Sunderland were top but Huddersfield had games in hand. Huddersfield would only win 1 of their next 7, though drawing 5 of them. Sunderland lost 3 of their last 5. We won 5 of our last 7, drawing the other two, but couldn't manage that win at Birmingham.

The missed pen at St Andrews makes it the closest for me.

if he started, I'm talking more about how many chances he'd get compared to when he plays in the Prem with Fulham
