Back in the Championship if he’d stayed.

That was a laughable move but Revie was much darker than that. They were an emerging multi talented side in the mid 60s, a side that should have won many things but for Revie’s implementing of the dark arts of the game rather than utilising the obvious skills at his disposal. He turned them from potential world beaters into regular runners up, also not averse to attempting to bribe the opposition allegedly. As I say, wonderful players who had a dirty, vicious streak in them, a vicious streak that wasn’t needed but was encouraged and lauded by their fans and detested by others.

Also that time we played them at Elland Rd when there was a bit of a travel ban on us, only being allowed to go on official supporters club buses. Got to the ground about two hours before kick off and were marched in. Grown men, some with their kids, waiting for us by the Billy Bremner statue, a couple climbed on the statue to get a better trajectory for their gobbing on us. Two hours before kick off mind, why they weren’t having a pre match pint? God knows, perhaps gobbing on the usual supporters club clientele of older ladies and kids seemed a better alternative.

I’ve not got a lot of respect for that club or their fans.

Someone should have told them to take all their medals and throw them in the bin because they didn't win them fairly.

Definitely, that someone would most probably go on to win two European Cups, amongst other trophies……. Never happen though, would it:hehe:

I always find it amusing how all these grand plans and philosophies are quickly binned when a few results don't go the right way.
