I was looking at this the other day after my Boro supporting mate said we were "safe". The article points out the great variability in points needed to avoid relegation. Somewhere between 40 and 50, usually. I'd be happy with 50 plus points and finishing ahead of the Wurzels, Jacks and (maybe) the Baggies. Saturday was a big step forward in our play off hopes. One can but dream.

Derby 21 points and Reading 6 deducted will mean a much lower total needed.

Derby can only get 54 points if they win every game.
Barnsley would have to get 11 wins out of 12 games to get there.
Peterborough would have to win all 12.
Plus we would have to lose every game?

Even if we don't pick up another point, two out of the three clubs above Peterboro' would have to pick up roughly 5-7 wins each to go above us. As they only have between 10-12 games left, I believe we have enough points already but I think we'll finish on about 55 points.

Looking at our fixtures, we have numerous teams just below or above us. 2.30pm, May 7th is a way to go, yet. One step at a time. 55 to 60 points would be a very satisfactory end to the season.

Of course, it's possible we go down if we take zero points from the next 10 games but that's not going to happen. If had to bet, I'd bet on us finishing higher than 17th.
