Dreadful, there seems to be a tendency for modern pitches to flatten out into a road, so that it’s at its easiest on the fifth day - spinners should come into their own in the final stages of a test match, but that pitch had nothing in it for any sort of bowler.

                    Re: england cricket

The fact the last 2 put on so many is a worry.

                    New ball seems key.

They say you dont know what the wicket is like and what a good score is intil both sides have batted.

If England can get them out for under around 280 then that last wicket stand will mean its game on.

                      Re: england cricket

Much more interesting cricket but another poor test wicket, skittlers on day 2?

Proper Test Match over Pakistan, all three results possible on final day and ending with an Australian victory. Some excellent cricket played and no (at least, not reported) aggro on the field.

It's a strange wicket in the England game because twice now, it's looked a wicket where 100 looks a decent score in the afternoon before settling down again in the final session - the commentators seem to think it's more due to the ball getting older than anything else. I think England could be in trouble here, their bowling looks pretty bland without Broad and Anderson.

Pakistan's middle and late order batting fell away completely in both innings - I'm still not convinced that this is a very good Australian side.

England getting frustrated by the Windies tail and some crap umpiring.
