      And then along comes the Duke ball mid season and no one can play it. It would be much better if one ball was specified for use and everybody told to use it.

          Yes ,thinking about it, just use the kookaburra, as clearly the current set up needs looking at.

            The weather would be a big factor, but if the pitches were kept pretty dry and fines for substandard wickets more rigorously enforced, I think you could play with the Duke ball in August and September when, hopefully, typical county seamers would have to do more than just “put it there” to get their wickets and you may see spinners playing more of a part.
