They have yet to come out and acknowledge its an offensive chant and that its not acceptable

After doing that they need to be proactive instead of sitting on their arses . A lot of football fans can't read but signs , hopefully only temporary , in the ground and on the TV screens saying that the club wants this stopped or something along those lines will be a start .

But it needs reinforcing . So more of that and leaflet drops in the Canton end etc

Cardiff City has an official supporters club . Leaflet the travellers on there and also leaflet the independent travelling groups that meet with the club and the police .

Absolutely NONE of this has been done

It's a complete joke and sums up CCFC , same old story over the years . It was raised at a meeting when the club was contacted by fans over the matter ......and since then , diddley squat

So first of all acknowledge its a problem .....and it certainly is ......then publicise that its not acceptable and keep at it

You don't have to accept it, doesn't mean anything can be done to stop thousands doing it. I agreed with JR, hence my exactly reply to his post.

Like I said before, it happens away, less people go to them games and it would be easier to point out to people there, the ones that take offence to it would have more chance of getting their point across on the busses and make their point in the away stands, as far as things have gone it doesn't seem to happen does it and nobody vents their anger on away busses or you'd think something may come of it and people may realise the offence it causes some fans. Again, I don't see how the police can do anything to stop it.

You'll just chase your tail round on this one as you always do, saying the same thing over and over, you're wasting your time, you'll just say i don't care etc to try and keep an Internet argument alive, rinse repeat.

I promise that I am in total agreement with you.

However, any battle like this is almost always onto a loser. Once you get lots of drunk/partially drunk blokes together rationale goes out of the window.

I change the subject to darts. Over the last few years there has been lots made of fans booing players who are throwing. For some players the atmosphere has become a bit toxic. Commentators have condemned it. Other players have condemned it. It still happens.

I'm not saying to give up the hope of trying to erase chants like that. I just think that, to do so, would be one hell of an achievement.

I don't know but if ccfc were making announcements at games that this song was unacceptable and it was on the TV screens and on leaflets I am certain it would make people aware it was not wanted and reduce the number of people singing it .

In fact I would put money on it .

You have asked me what I think the club should do about it . I have told you the club are aware of the problem yet so far havnt done anything . I have suggested a number of possibilities. If the club don't get any further e mails then nothing will be done . If they get more there is a chance they will do something .

So if you havnt already done so and you find this song offensive then e mail the club . It only takes minutes and you will know you have tried .

I think quite often, problems that look huge on ccmb aren't even acknowledged in the world outside of this site, or not seen as such a huge problem as it is made out.

Our fans have been like this for years , it's been going on long before you were supporting the team

It's really not difficult to grasp

The fact that a song about child abuse is being sung is appalling and I am afraid just not wanting to do anything about it or critisising those who try to take action simply isn't good enough
