Re: Old Cardiff Pictures
I simply rembering not having money to buy such meals as they're bought now , it was a huge treat if your mum took you to Asteys or for a Wimpy now it's so much easier .Originally posted by BLUETIT View PostObviously, Wimpy’s were not as fattening as MacDonalds

I wonder what a 23p Wimpy Egg Bender would be in today's money.

The picture is taken on the last day before decimilisation came in… not when Morgan’s ceased trading.Originally posted by dembethewarrior View PostIncase born in the 80s and remember it so I'd say tuerto was right!

Re: Old Cardiff Pictures
You mis read the caption under the photo - it says on the last day before decimalisation, not closure.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostGreat photos, but I looked at them thinking Cardiff hasn’t changed as much as I would have thought it had in fifty years.
David Morgan’s didn’t close in 1971 though did it, seems much more recent than that to me.
I was living in Fairwater from the early sixties and I can’t remember that Swiss Cottage ever being occupied.
