He was great! He always brought a smile to the faces of people he passed.

No, it wasn’t John Reynolds, of huge sideboards fame. I do hope he’s still alive, remember him from the 60s, our nickname for him was Jim Fryatt, after the similar sideboarded footballer.

          Re: The Cardiff Walking Lady

There used to be a chap in Newport who would have a shopping trolley full of 5 litre water bottles. He would fill them up then empty them over Clarence Bridge into the Usk, apparently in an attempt to clean the river.
I think he lived in some supported accommodation, so was obviously getting some help, but it can be upsetting to see people with obvious mental issues.

I saw 'flowers' then and immediately thought Mike's Granada.

That is a blast from the past.

Blimey, that takes me back, he must have had that car for about twenty years, if not longer. Think my sister was in the same year as his daughter in Pentrebane school. He was always so cheerful.

Unfortunately she did look worse than ever.

Anyone know her? I love walking but this lady is on a different planet, she must walk hundreds of miles a week.

Exercise is everything in my opinion, and we see the benefits as we age, as well as the mental health benefits.

There have been studies about sedentary lifestyles and dementia, although not conclusive they do point in that direction with further work required.

Anyone on here who lived in Ely in the 70’s will remember “John the Baptist”
He used to hang around near Green farm Rd/ Michaelston Rd area.
