But they were managed by Scotty. He doesn't seem the sharpest tool in the shed to me.

I think £75-100M is about right if you want to give yourself a chance to stay up. Especially if you came up through the playoffs.

I often think of Forest as a poorly run club throwing money about left, right and centre, but I forget that consistently producing players whose sale goes a long way towards covering such expenditure from your category 2 Academy does make a huge difference to a club.

I am aware of their proper name , however , I’ve called them Notts , Nottingham Forest and Forest since 1979, and so have plenty of others I know. The pedants clearly have the hump with this :hehe:

Even modern day pundits like Jamie Carragher call them Notts Forest

A £100m transfer spend equals an equally huge increase in wages - the general assumption must be the higher the transfer fee, the higher the wage demanded. Surviving the 1st season would certainly add at least £100m to the value of the club, but it's a massive gamble.

All the more reason to call them Notts Forest :ayatollah: Although I make a point amongst peers not to. It's a bit like saying Atletico Bilbao, still saying Czechoslovakia or pronouncing the L's when ordering pints of Estrella.
