The problem for Watters is that both McCarthy, and now Morison, prefer a one-striker system.
To be honest, I'm surprised the club didn't let him go this summer, but the lack of other options may have put paid to that.
We've rarely had a 2 striker option since Dave Jones left.

Not at all. If you play with one lone striker, you want that striker to be a solid all-rounder. Decent in the air, a physical presence, can hold the ball up, bring others into play, will run at defenders etc.

I see no reason why Watters and Robinson couldn't play together and there is no concrete evidence that Morison doesn't like two strikers. In fact Watters would probably benefit from it. At times we have been playing three up front this season but it is certainly a more flexible approach to suit the opposition.
Two strikers means either losing a winger or a centre midfielder. I haven't seen any evidence to suggest he'd be prepared to lose either.

Which makes it all the more remarkable that somehow, Mark Harris is still here :hehe:

I like Harris. He's a worker. He's a trier. He's not a finisher, unfortunately. He's never looked that out of place as a sub for Wales.

Absolutely none of which Watters has shown to be any good at.

                      I'm not a manager and I don't have scouts working for me, that's all Morrison's problem/business.
It's not budget alone that determines a players decision is it but you stated it was a lack of budget which is why I asked the question as I assumed you knew otherwise why draw those conclusions

Agreed. If I was Mark Harris I'd be wondering why I'd been shoved down the pecking order. That's not an appraisal of Harris, either.

What other possible conclusion can you draw?? :hehe:
We can't compete financially with some of the club's in this league, hence why we've lost the likes of Smithies for example, as we had to make big cutbacks.
We're not offering big wages and we don't have 10's of millions to spend on transfer fees. We knew all this last season.

You can use all the smilies you want as you seem to be avoiding the questions I asked except you don't know what budget we had

But just on your latest post of course we had to make cutbacks as we have lost any parachute payments, no real big fan base or sponsors and we are still suffering from bad deals for people like Smithies Bacuna et al

However how does that equate to needing to spend 10s of millions on players when the examples I gave of Sims and Delap were both loans so no where near millions and no knowledge of what they are being paid signing on fees etc so way to conslude that they chose to go elsewhere based on money which is what you essentially claim

Ok, I'm genuinely scratching my head here... Firstly, I didn't claim to know a single thing, I simply stated the blindingly obvious that all of us as fans can see!
Secondly, all your silly questions about budgets, players etc are unanswerable from me because my name is not Tan or Morison, go ask those guys!
Lastly, if you think money doesn't have a significant influence on where a player and his agent may or may not decide to go, you are very naiive to say the least.
P.S. Why are you offended by smilies? :hehe:
