Interesting that this thread refers to Watters & Harris, but no mentions of Etete, have we written him off already?

I don't want to piss on the parade but is he actually a striker?

This is what I found (not taken wholly out of context either)....

          "Reportedly sold for just £1.5m?"

"£1.5m would be a farcically low fee"

"Rather have him than a few others. Nevertheless one of the few saleable assets."

"the fee seems too low to me for a decent Championship player and international striker."

"The fee is a joke on the face of it. This guy scored twice at Stamford Bridge last year and looked every bit good enough to."

"That does look like a comically low fee."

"How many of Grant's goals have been assisted by Robinson?"

"Bit sad about this, but at the same time, feels inevitable."

"There is no real reason to let Robinson go when we have old cart horse's in Livermore and Phillips, and a none footballing footballer in Zohore eating up the funds."

"Farce selling someone like him when we are so short of forward options"

The only sense of negativity I'm getting from the West Brom' fans is aimed towards their club, for not lining up an adequate replacement, and for letting the player go so "cheaply".

Excuse me if I can't get excited about us paying £1.5mil for a 27 year old striker that stands at 5'10, apparently doesn't like the physical game (that's putting it far more polite than the baggies fans on twitter), and has a poor goalscoring record.

I'll go get my dancing boots now shall I?!
            :hehe:

Listen, I don't post here to be negative, I'm just stating what I'm seeing.
We'll see how it all pans out in the coming weeks and months I'm sure.
What would normally tend to happen here is that there'd be a link to a West Brom forum backing up what you say. The fact that there isn't suggests that you're making it up.

On the other hand, you might have looked at this thread which covers all of Robinson's time at Albion and concentrated on the negative posts in there (the thread runs to forty seven pages, so there's bound to be a few), whereas I looked at the fact that the reaction to his transfer in the thread was generally one of regret that he had to go and a bit of surprise as to how small the fee was.

This Preston fan (who would have watched Robinson play for his club for four or five years all told) also thinks the fee was a snip and clearly would have welcomed Robinson being back at Deepdale.

All summer Preston North End have been chasing at least two strikers. Troy Parrott has filled one gap, and with rumours that Emil Riis could...

Is he going to score twenty goals for us this season? Very doubtful, there's little or nothing in his career record to suggest this, but, having got very lucky once with Keiffer Moore, you're kidding yourself if you think a fee of £2 million or below will buy you an experienced striker at this level with a history of scoring twenty goals in a Championship season - for the money we paid, I reckon he's a good signing.

If he scores 5 over the season which earn us say 10 points, money well spent. 10 and he gets the Magic Hat.

I was referring to twitter as stated. Go look on there.
On balance it's probably not the best place for opinions obviously, it tends to be a bit more fiery. Either way, regardless, that's where I was and there was A LOT of posts from people being far from polite about his ability. Not all negative, but aside from those just wishing him well and not commenting on his ability, it largely was.

Is zohore still there? Crikey…..I’m surprised they’ve let us have so many decent players of late after we did that to them…..:hehe:

So long as Baggies fans don't have the last laugh if Robinson goes all Vassell on us.

Didn't Morisson when he called him a project?

That's really positive actually. I thought he was a good player but in the current market a awful lot of money.

I'm weary of him mind as I know he's good, but like the rest of the squad is rather smaller and lighter than someone like Hugill

Will comfortably be our top scorer (barring long term injury) possibly even close on assists looking at his record, although will need others to finish.

He isn't banging 20 in, particularly in this team, but we have rarely had that luxury.

All for 1.5m, bargain. I was expecting another "project" type punts.
